Phở-Tine From La Bêtise
La Bêtiseのフォーティン

I saw "Phở-Tine" is served at La Bêtise for La Poutine Week.
Phở-Tine is a Tonkinese Poutine, meaning Pho Poutine.
The place opens at 5 PM and we got there around 5:30 PM.
Though the space was empty, they seemed to have a lot of reservation and we're told we could take a table up to an hour.
As we're here to eat the special poutine, we said that's fine and sat down at a table.
Regular menu had "Poutine General Tao" and my husband got this one.
The description was only written in French, and it says something similar to the following.
"Home fries, cheese curds, bean sprouts, onions, Thai basil, beef balls, and the sauce is pho soup base."

The actual product didn't look like the image and the entire bowl was "brown and beige" which wasn't that appetizing.
Cheese curds were medium size and they had so-so squeakiness.
Fries were skinny like McDonald's fries with skins on.
First I had no idea what these were made of, and I even thought of mushrooms, but these were "beef balls" and they're very chewy like rubber and had herbal flavor.
Not my favorite as I didn't like the texture, flavor, or the taste, so basically nothing I liked about these...
The sauce was kind of close to pho soup, it's a bit weak and I only noticed saltiness.
I added some Sriracha sauce to change the flavor.
The reviews of this restaurant was were good and my hope was too high and the dish didn't meet my expectation.

フォーティンはフォーとプーティンを合わせたものらしい。
このレストランは17時に開店するので、17時半頃に行った。
お店はガラガラだったけれど予約が沢山入っていたようで、1時間までなら席の用意が
出来ると言われた。
プーティンだけを食べに来たので、1時間で問題ないと伝えて座った。
通常メニューには「プーティン ジェネラルツォー」があり、旦那はこれを注文した。
フォーティンの説明はフランス語のみで記載されていて、適当に訳すと「自家製フライド
ポテト、チーズカード、もやし、玉ネギ、タイ バジル、牛肉ボール、フォースープを
ベースにしたソース」で出来ているらしい。
実物はイメージ画像とは似ておらず、全体的に「茶色とベージュ」であまり美味しそうに
見えなかった。
チーズカードは中くらいの大きさで、そこそこ歯ごたえがあった。
ポテトはマクドナルドのポテトのように細めだった。
最初に牛肉ボールを見た時は何か分からず、マッシュルームかと思ったけれど、ゴムの
ような強い歯ごたえがあり、ハーブの香りもした。
これは食感、香り、味とどれも好きではなく、ほとんど除けて食べた。
ソースはフォーのスープに多少似ていたけれど、あまり味がなく塩気だけがあった。
途中でシラチャソースをかけて、味を変えた。
このレストランのレビューが良かったので、期待し過ぎた結果あまり美味しいとは思え
なかった。
