My first poutine during this trip was from "Main Deli" on St-Laurent, and though I usually get the most simple one, I got "Main Poutine" as this deli is famous for their smoked meat, established in 1974.
And interestingly enough, it's located in front of Schwartz's, another famous smoked meat deli.

There're a lot of photos and articles about the deli.

And a lot of national flags.

Menu

There're about 5 pages, but I only took one page with poutines.

Approximately in 10 minutes, Main Poutine was brought.

Over thick fries and cheese chords, there's a pile of smoked meat and gravy sauce.

Not too thinly sliced smoked meat was all tender, moist and had peppery flavor.

Every time I chewed, spices and savory juicy flavor appeared, and it's had perfect saltiness.

Thick fires were soft inside and crispy outside, but the color wasn't too dark and they didn't look burnt.

Cheese curds were not chewy and a lot of them was soft.

And many of them got melted from the hot fries and gravy sauce.

Their gravy sauce was bitter, very salty and starchy, and I didn't like it that much.

And to enjoy the smoke meat as it was, I scraped off the gravy sauce and also I did the same to the fries.

今回のモントリオール滞在中、最初のプーティンはサンロラン通りの「メインデリ」というお店で、通常であれば最もシンプルなプーティンを注文するけれど、ここは1974年に
創業されたスモークミートが有名なお店なので「メインプーティン」を注文した。
また、有名なスモークミートのお店シュワーツの向かいに位置している。

店内にはこのデリに関する沢山の写真や記事が飾ってあった。
また、大量の国旗があった。
メニューは全部で5ページほどあったけれど、プーティンのページだけを撮影。

10分ほどでメインプーティンが運ばれてきた。
太めのポテトとチーズカードの上にどんとスモークミートが盛られ、上からグレービー
ソースがかけられていた。

薄くなりすぎないようにスライスされたスモークミートは柔らかくしっとりしていて、
胡椒の味が効いていた。
また、噛む度にスパイスとお肉の味が染み出し、ちょうど良い塩加減だった。

太めのポテトは内側は柔らかく、外側はサクッとしていたけれど焦げた部分はなく淡く
揚げ色がついていた。

チーズカードはあまり硬くなくほとんどが柔らかい状態で、ポテトやグレービーソースの
熱で溶けていた。

グレービーソースは苦くてとても塩辛く粘度があり、あまり好きではなかった。
スモークミートの味を楽しむためにグレービーソースを削ぎ落として食べた。
ポテトもなるべく グレービーソースを落として食べるようにした。
