June 9, 2014, Calpis launched a limited time flavor called "Calpis Fruits Parlor Selected Melon."
"Calpis Fruits Parlor" is a lactic fruit drink mixed of Calpis and fruits.

Calpis Fruits Parlor Selected Melon uses juice of mellow melons harvested early in the morning mixed with Calpis.

Also they added rock salt from France to create a clear finish.

At the bottom, it shows less than 10% of fruits juice is used in this product.

To my surprise, the main fruit is apples, not melons as it describes, "Apples are used primarily followed by melons."
I wonder if it's "apple juice with melon flavor."

When I opened the bottle, I smelled really sweet melon flavor.

And the color of the content was pale green.

However, when I drank, it tasted like apple with melon flavor.

I thought it might be due to the fact I read the bottle first (main fruit is apples, not melons), but it definitely had apple flavor.

It even tasted like green apple juice.
I didn't taste any salt in this ridiculously sweet drink.

It wasn't bad at all but they could just named this "Apple," not "Melon."

「カルピス フルーツパーラー」はカルピスと果物を混ぜた乳性果汁飲料。

「カルピス フルーツパーラー 厳選メロン」は、甘く熟した朝採りメロンの果汁とカルピスを混ぜ、

すっきりした後味にするためにフランス産の岩塩が加えられている。

ボトルの下に果汁が10%未満であると記載されていて、さらに驚いた記載内容が「リンゴを主に、

メロン使用」ということ。

「リンゴ味のメロン風味」ということなのか？と飲む前から気になった。

キャップを取るととても甘いメロンの香りが広がり、ジュースの色は淡い緑色だった

ただ、飲んでみるとメロンの香りがするリンゴ味。

飲む前にボトルの「リンゴが主な果物」という部分を見てしまったから、リンゴ味に感じたかと

思ったけれど、やはりどう考えてもリンゴ味だった。

だんだん青リンゴのような味にも思えてきた。
ものすごく甘い飲み物で、塩味は全くなかった。

決して不味くはないけれど、「メロン」ではなく「リンゴ」として販売すれば良かったのになぁ。

LB Co., Ltd. is a beverage manufacturer and distributor, mainly lactobacillius and chilled drinks, based in Saitama prefecture.
LB is a part of Asahi Groups that holds Calpis, lactic bacteria liquid, and LB launched a new type of Calpis drink on April 29, 2014.

It's named "Soy Cream & Calpis" and as you can imagine, it's a mix of soy cream and Calpis.
According to the website, soy ingredients are rich but healthy and they can add some rich texture but leave refreshing taste.

The package has soy beans around a glass of swirly liquid.

I guess the yellow liquid poured with a spoon is soy cream?

Little green box shows the quality of the tastiness.
"We use "Calpis" made with carefully selected lactic acid and chosen ingredients.
You can enjoy the rich and smooth texture from soy cream."

I thought the beverage inside would be more yellow, but it's like very very very subtle beige and it's technically creamy white.

It's velvety and had light richness, but the texture was light and it tasted as refreshing as regular Calpis.
I think this was less sweet than regular Calpis drinks but had more texture and flavor.

株式会社エルビーは、主に乳酸菌飲料やチルド飲料を製造販売する、埼玉県にある企業。
カルピスと同様に、エルビーはアサヒグループに入っている。
エルビーは2014年4月29日に新しいカルピス飲料を発売した。

「ソイクリーム&カルピス」という商品名で、名前の通り豆乳クリームとカルピスが混ぜられたもの。
コクがありながらヘルシーな豆乳素材を加え、まろやかであっさりした味になっているらしい。

パッケージの写真は、グラスの上に大豆が散りばめられていて、恐らくスプーンから垂らされている
黄色い液体が大豆クリーム。

裏面には「おいしさへのこだわり品質」とあり、カルピスと合わせた豆乳クリームの食感について
記載されていた。

グラスに注いでみると、かなり薄いベージュというかほぼ白に近いクリーム色で、パッケージの
ような黄色ではなかった。

豆乳の滑らかな食感と軽いとろみがあり、後味は通常のカルピスと同じくあっさりしていた。
普通のカルピスよりも甘さ控えめで、食感や香りが良かった。

A vending machine at the entrance in the office building I work at has a too-interesting-to-forget can of drink.
I noticed this weird can display on the first day I came back to work.

It's Calpis, but Hot Calpis.
I'm used to drinking cold one or Calpis soda, but I've never tried them warm before.

For those who have no idea what Calpis is, here's some information about the product and company.

Calpis is a first lactic acid bacilli beverage in Japan and was brought to the market on July 7th, 1919.
The company name at that time was different but in 1923, they changed it to Calpis.
In 1902, founder Mr. Mishima visited Mongolia region (current Inner Mongol, China) and found the local dairy product, which was similar to cheese. 
He developed Calpis using the Mongolian dairy product as a model and launched it in 1919.
The distinctive flavor of Calpis is from lactic acid produced by lactobacilli bacteria and this had been an industrial secret for a long time but they disclosed that mid 1990s.

FYI, Calpis sounds like "cow piss" in English, so in the states, they change the name and sell it as Calpico.

It says "hot and tasty" on the can, but I'm not sure yet.

It says their persistence for the taste and quality.

Calpis' one of a kind and inherited for 90 years lactic acid is used.

The unique sweet-sour flavor of Calpis remains in this hot drink.

Added roasted sugar to create sweet and soft taste.

I'm surprised 0g of fat in it and low calories for the amount even though it says they added sugar.
Total calories: 61.6kcal as the amount of this can is 280g.

[Ingredients]

What I see is "sugar, sugar, and sugar" besides lactic acid.

According to a little alert, the allergic substances are milk and soy beans.
And one of the ingredients, reduced sugar syrup is is hard to digest and might cause diarrhea by physical condition and constitution.

Opened the can and smelled like the same Calpis that I know but sweeter than the regular (cold) one.

I wanted to see the color, so I poured into a cup and found the color is slightly darker/stronger the cold Calpis.

I had a sip.
It's sweet. Really sweet.
I might have been able to finish this can, but I didn't.
Instead of drinking it hot, I put it in fridge and made it cold.
But, it's still too sweet and I've never even made this sugary sweet Calpis by myself.

I'm not gonna buy unless I really need sugar in my body...
