Yamazaki Biscuit Co., launched Chip Star Chocolat from the end of January, 2017 at 7-Eleven only, but it's a very small test-market without any press release besides solely available within 23 wards in Tokyo, it's hard to find, I heard.
Finally, on November 1, 2017, they launched this Chip Star Chocolat at 7-Eleven as winter only flavor.
One side was sideway and another side had longways to display the box.
Enjoy a marvelous salty potato chip coated with mild bitter chocolate.

Chip Star Chocolat
One side of Chip Star is covered with smooth chocolate.
It melts well together with a great balance of sweet chocolate and saltiness.
On the plastic bag, there's a note, "Open this side up."
On the other side, it says, "Please turn over and open."
There's a tray with 3 sections holding 6 pieces of chips each.
Each chip had a quite few amount of chocolate coating.
On the other side had chocolate line around it.
It's a bit difficult to take a piece off because the chocolate coating was slightly melted and connecting the chips together.
The chocolate was bittersweet and I tasted saltiness of the chips.
Chip Star is a bit soft chips, not as crunchy as sliced potato chips as Chip Star uses mashed potato chips shaped into chips, and due to the softness, they even seemed stale in a way.
I read some reviews that this potato chips are as tasty as Royce' Potato Chip Chocolate, but personally, I find Royce' product is much flavorful and this Chip Star Chocolat was mediocre.

販売した。
ただ、これはプレスリリースもなく、東京都23区内のみというかなり小規模なテスト販売
だったので、見つけるのが困難だったと聞いた。
2017年11月1日、セブンイレブンで冬季限定フレーバーとしてチップスター ショコラが
販売された。
箱は片面が横置き、反対側は縦置きできるデザインだった。

チップスターの片面に、口どけの良いチョコレートをかけました。
チョコレートの甘みと程よく効いた塩味が抜群のバランスでとけ合います。
プラスチックの袋には「この面を上にお開けください」と書かれていた。

トレーは3つに分かれていて、それぞれ6枚のポテトチップスが入っていた。
チョコレートがしっかりとかかっていた。
反対側の面は、縁にチョコレートがついていた。
チョコレートでくっついていて、はがしにくかった。

チップスターは柔らかめのチップスなので、少し湿気っているような食感に感じた。
レビューを見るとロイズのポテトチップ チョコレートと同じくらい美味しいと書いて
あったけれど、ロイズの方が断然美味しいし、個人的にはこれは不味いとしか思えな
かった。
