Calbee has launched several new and limited Jagarico flavors, and this is one of them to come out to the market the earliest, on February 10, 2014.
This flavor is called "Koumi Shoyu" in Japanese.

香味 (Koumi) means flavoring or seasoning, and 醤油 (Shouyu) means soy sauce in English.
So it's not just a soy sauce flavored snack but the soy sauce is seasoned with garlic and ginger, which provide more flavors than the plain soy sauce we find at the supermarket.

On the package, there're plates of soy sauce, garlic and ginger, kelp and bonito flakes, and these are used in this Jagarico.

On the left side, it's got a stamp says "limited time only" and at the bottom, it says "soy sauce seasoned with garlic and ginger."

As always, there're puns on the cup.
This one says, "Koumiete Aishouyushi !"
It's supposed to be "Koumiete AishouyOshi !" and it means "It may not look like it, they go together!"

The other one was on the bar-code.
A shadow of giraffe asks, "Please say a pun."
Then the jar of soy sauce answers, "Shouyuwaretemo..."
The correct responding line is "Sou Iwaretemo..." which express confusion like "I don't know what to say for your request..."

When I removed the lid, I could smell garlic and sweet soy sauce flavor.

When I ate it, I could taste soy sauce with garlic (as it smelled) and had sweet and fragrant scent of bonito flakes.
It had very subtle ginger scent but I couldn't tell kelp flavor.

Little dots in each piece are garlic flavored soy sauce flakes for more intense taste.
These seasoning flakes had very appetizing scent.

カルビーからいくつかの期間限定フレーバが新発売されてきたけれど、その中で１番早く
2014年2月10日に発売されたのが今日食べた「香味醤油」という商品。
単なる醤油ではなく、ニンニクと生姜の香りや味が加えられたフレーバー。

これまでに食べたじゃがりこ。
チーズカレー
クラムチャウダー
ゆず胡椒
かぼちゃグラタン
抹茶クリーム

アスパラベーコン
パッケージにはお皿に入った醤油、ニンニク、と生姜、昆布、鰹節が載っていて、これらは全て
じゃがりこ香味醤油に使われている。

カップの左側には「期間点綴」のスタンプがあり、その下に「醤油ににんにくと生姜で香りづけ」と
記載されている。

いつもダジャレも健在で、1つは「こうみえて、相しょうゆし！」
もう1つはバーコードの部分でキリンの影が「ダジャレ言ってみて。」と言い、醤油さしが
「しょうゆわれても...。」と答えている。

蓋を開けると、醤油の甘い香りと一緒にニンニクの香りがした。
食べてみると、香りと同じようにニンニク醤油の味がし、かつお節の香ばしい甘い香りと味がした。
ほんのり生姜の香りがしたけれど、昆布の味は分からなかった。
じゃがりこの中にある点々は、ニンニク醤油のフレークで、ニンニクが食欲をそそる味だった。
