Poutine From McKibbin’s Irish Pub Was Technically A Baked Potato
アイリッシュパブ「McKibbin's」のプーティンは、ベイクドポテトだった

Today, it's Sunday but we're looking for a bar/pub to watch Super Bowl, and my husband found a bar which participates in the Poutine Week.
It's like a perfect combination so we went to an Irish pub called "McKibbin's Irish Pub" on St-Laurent.

This place has "Baked Potato Poutine" for the poutine week and it's described on the Poutine Week HP as the following.
"All the ingredients of a baked potato, but in poutine form with our homemade gravy."

The game started at 6:30 PM, and we got there before 6PM.
And more than half of the tables were taken.
As we saw "reserved" cones on the tables, we thought somebody would come and take to a table or bar counters but no waiter or waitress came for over 5 minutes, so we grabbed a table on our own.
I'm not familiar with bar/pub system, but at least this place, nobody takes you to a table.
So if you go there, you gotta find a table on your own and sit.
A little bit after we sat at a table, a waitress came and provided menu and cutlery.
Menu looked like a newspaper and inside and the back side has lists of foods and drinks.

I ordered the special poutine.
After 10 minutes or so, the Baked Potato Poutine was brought.

It was exactly what the waitress explained to me; bacon, onion (leek), cheese, and sour cream with gravy sauce.

The fries had skins on like real baked potato.
They used two types of cheese; cheese curds and cheddar cheese.
But the amount of cheddar cheese they used was very little so that it even looked like a pattern on a plate.
Skinny sour cream lines made me think it's mayonnaise.
If they had put a spoonful chunk of sour cream on the top, it'd have resembled baked potato much more.

The bacon chips were very crispy and added some flavor to the potato.
However, the homemade gravy sauce didn't have any flavor or taste in it other than salt.
It tasted nothing, maybe sour cream and bacon were too strong, but the gravy sauce was a tasteless sauce with beef fat in it.
While watching the Super Bowl, we decided to get something sweet and ordered an apple pie with ice cream.

The apple pie was brought very warm.
Top of the apple pie was crispy and under the pie, it's filled with apple comport with cinnamon.
The ice cream wasn't vanilla and it's more like refreshing milk ice cream.
With or without ice cream, this apple pie was quite good and I like this dessert more than the special poutine.
The check was funny.
Special poutine was referred to as "Poutine Week."

今日2月2日（日）はスーパーボウル（アメリカンフットボールの優勝決定戦）だったので、
試合を観戦できるパブやバーを探していたところ、旦那がプーティンウィークに参加
しているパブでスーパーボウル観戦をしているお店を見つけた。
完璧な組み合わせなので、St-Laurent 通りにある「McKibbin's」というアイリッシュパブ
へ夕方向かった。
このパブでは「ベイクドポテトプーティン」を提供中で、プーティンウィークのHPによると、
「ベイクドポテトと同じ材料を使い、ホームメードのグレービーソースをかけたもの」で
あるらしい。
これまで食べたプーティンは以下。
試合開始は18時半、お店に着いたのは18時前。
既に半分以上の席が埋まっていた。
テーブルに「予約席」と印があったので、レストラン同様ウェイターもしくはウェイトレスが
来て、席かバーカウンターへ案内すると思っていたけれど、全く誰も声をかけてこない。
5分以上入口に立っていても放置されていたので、自分たちでテーブルを見つけて座った。
パブやバーのシステムに詳しくないのでよく分からないけれど、このパブに関しては
誰もテーブルへ案内しないように見えた。
もし行くことがあれば、自分で席を見つけて座ることになると思っておいた方が良さそう。
テーブルに座って少し経った頃、ウェイトレスがメニューとカトラリーを持って来た。
メニューは新聞紙のようなデザインで、中と裏側に食べ物と飲み物のリストがある。
私はプーティンウィークのスペシャルプーティンを頼み、10分程度で
「ベイクドポテトプーティン」が出された。
ウェイトレスの説明通り、ベーコン、青ねぎ、チーズ、サワークリームが乗った
ベイクドポテトと同じ具材のプーティン。

ポテトは本物のベイクドポテトと同じく、皮がついたまま。
使われていたチーズは、チーズカードとチェダーチーズの2種類。
チェダーチーズの量が少なかったので、お皿の模様に見えたほど。
細く絞り出されたサワークリームは、大嫌いなマヨネーズに見えた。
ベイクドポテトに乗っているように、スプーン一杯程度の量をぼとっと
ポテトの上に乗せてあれば、本物のベイクドポテトに似ていたと思う。
ベーコンチップはカリカリとしていて、ポテトに風味を足していた。
反対に、ホームメードのグレービーソースには塩以外の味がしなかった。
サワークリームやベーコンの味が強いのか、グレービーソースの味はせず、
牛脂の入った無味ソースといった印象。
まだスーパーボウルが続いていたので、デザートにアップルパイ（アイス添え）を
注文することにした。
アップルパイ
アップルパイは熱々の状態で出された。
パイはサクッとしていて、中にはシナモン味のアップルコンポートがぎっしり。
アイスはバニラと言うよりは、ミルクアイスに近く、さっぱりしていた。
アイスを付けても付けなくても、美味しいアップルパイだった。
プーティンウィークのベイクドポテトプーティンよりも、このアップルパイの方が
美味しかった。
伝票をもらうと、プーティンの部分は「プーティンウィーク」と表示されていた。
