My husband searched the birthplace of poutine, and he found several sources.
One of them was from "History of Poutine" on La Banquise's HP, and it says poutine was for sure born in rural Quebec in the 1950's.
There's a list of possibly birthplaces of poutines; Le Lutin Qui Rit in Warwick, Le Roy Jucep in Drummondville, Nicolet in Centre-du-Québec, Saint-Hyacinthe in Montérégie and La P’tite Vache in Princeville.
One day, we rented a car and went to 6 poutineries outside of Montreal.

Le Lutin Qui Rit is no longer open so that we went to Le Roy Jucep in Drummondville.
Le Roy Jucep claims that the owner of the restaurant Jean-Paul Roy invented the dish and the website says, "L'inventeur de la poutine."
Also, they registered a trademark that they're the inventor of poutine.
Drummondville launched an official tourism campaign and they claim ownership of poutine, Quebec's most famous dish.

I ordered a petit l'authentique poutine and my husband got a grilled hotdog, and they served them as "Les Duos" as it's cheaper.

It's my first time to see grilled hotdog, and it's a hotdog on a toasted (=grilled) hotdog bun.
L'Authentique Poutine
Over medium thick fries, there're orange brown gravy and large cheese curds.
Some curds had a larger diameter than my thumb, and they're very squeaky.
Fries were light and crispy, and some parts were crunchy.
The orange brown gravy was much sweeter than ordinary gravy sauce, and the texture was lightly starchy.
From my experience, I knew that English wouldn't be useful once we leave Montreal for 30 minutes by car, and the same situation happened again.
However, the staffs at the shop tried to understand us and we communicated with gestures and broken English and French.

プーティンが1950年代にケベックの田舎で生まれたのは間違いないと書かれていた。
プーティン誕生の地として挙げられていたのは、ワーウィックのお店Le Lutin Qui Rit、
ドラモンヴィルのお店Le Roy Jucep、センター・デュ・ケベックのNicolet地域、モンテ
レジーのSaint-Hyacinthe地域、プリンスヴィルのLa P'tite Vacheというお店。
レンタカーをモントリオール以外の場所へ行き、6店舗でプーティンを食べた。

あるプーティンの所有者だと言っている。
私はオーセンティック プーティンのプチサイズを選び、旦那はグリルド ホットドッグを
注文した。
ただ、「Les Dous」というセットにすると安かったようで、店員がセットとして出して
くれた。
初めてグリルド ホットドッグを見たのだけれど、これはトースト（＝グリル）したパンに
ホットドッグを挟んだものだった。
中太のポテトの上に、オレンジがかった茶色のグレービーソースと大きなチーズカードが
乗っていた。
いくつかのチーズカードは、私の親指よりも直径が大きなものもあり、キュキュッとした
歯応えがしっかりとあった。
ポテトは軽くサクサクし、ところどろこカリッとした部分があった。
明るい茶色のグレービーはよくあるもよりもずっと甘く、少しとろみのある質感だった。
モントリオールから車で30分ほど離れると英語が通じないと経験から知っていたけれど、
今回もほぼ英語が通じなかったのだけれど、それでもお店の人は理解しようとしてくれ、
お互い身振り手振りを交えて会話をした。
