Grilled Cheese From U.S. Capitol Visitor Center Restaurant
連邦議事堂ビジターセンター レストランのグリルドチーズ

When we went to Washington D.C., we went to U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.
It's under construction so that we didn't get to see the beautiful all-white building.
After going through security, we watched a brief history of the Capitol and a guided tour started with a group of 10 or so people.
No food or drinks are allowed, but there's a restaurant in the visitor center, and this is where we had late breakfast/early lunch that day.
Seating area looked very nice.
There's a salad bar.
There're several windows to place orders depending on the type of food.
I got Grilled Cheese & Fries.
I'm used to seeing yellow American cheese and I was surprised to see white American.
The bread was lightly yellow and it might have been potato bread.
Cheese was gooey, and they must have used at least 2 slices of cheese as it's very cheesy.
The fries were battered and the outside was crunchy while inside was soft and moist.

It's golden brown outside, and the inside was white, moist, and fluffy.
It didn't have much flavor or sourness of buttermilk.
Honey Cornbread
The top was golden brown, and the bottom and the sides were dark brown.
It's way too moist, and I realized that it's not cooked through...
It's sweet and flavorful, but I didn't eat the uncooked part.

飲食物の持ち込みは厳禁だったけれど、中にあったレストランで遅めの朝食・早めの
昼食を取った。
テーブルや椅子は綺麗で、サラダバーもあった。
料理の種類によって、並ぶ窓口が異なっていた。

黄色いアメリカンチーズが使われることが多いので、白いアメリカンチーズで驚いた。
パンは淡い黄色だったので、ポテトブレッドだったのかもしれない。
チーズはとろっとしていて、かなり量があったので、少なくとも2枚使われていたと思う。
ポテトは衣が付いていて、外側はカリッとして内側は柔らかくしっとりしていた。
これまでに書いたグリルドチーズは以下。
パンは淡い黄色だったので、ポテトブレッドだったのかもしれない。
チーズはとろっとしていて、かなり量があったので、少なくとも2枚使われていたと思う。
ポテトは衣が付いていて、外側はカリッとして内側は柔らかくしっとりしていた。

バターミルクの酸味や味はあまりなかった。

表面は粟井や黄色で、底や側面は濃い茶色だった。
とてもしっとりしているな、と思っていたら、一部焼けていない所があった。
甘くて香りも良かったけれど、生焼けの部分は食べなかった。
