Grilled Cheese From The Cafeteria At MET
メトロポリタン美術館 カフェテリアのグリルドチーズ

We went to MET today even it's snowing in NYC (yes, it's March 20, but all of the sudden, more snow and the visibility is quite bad).
I thought there wouldn't be many people due to the weather, but I was wrong and I feel like there're more people than regular weekdays because of the snow; maybe snow day at offices and schools.
After walking around some sections we've never been to, we went to The Cafeteria.
It's located on the Ground Floor, that is really confusing as there's also 1st Floor.
British English, ground floor means 1st floor in American English, so we're like, "!?!?!?!?"
This cafeteria has many options.
Even Sushi.
As it's the closet from the entrance, it's the busiest when we're there.
On the lower panel, there's kids meals called "Taxi Cab" and it says "Children Under 12" after that, but they don't check age so that we could order food from the list.
There're 4 items which are named after places in New York.
Times Square; chicken tenders
On Broadway; grilled cheese
Coney Island; hot dog
Little Italy; penne with marinara sauce
Each item comes with a choice of whole fruit, chips or fries and juice or milk.
* Except Coney Island, the rest was all in Manhattan borough and I was wondering why they used Coney Island which is in Brooklyn borough, but as soon as I saw the item was hot dog, it made a lot of sense. <-- Nathan's hot dog eating contest is held in Coney Island.
I got "On Broadway" that is grilled cheese, and I was surprised that it's actually served in a Taxi Cab box.
At the cash register, an employee said that I could get a juice so I went back to the kitchen and grabbed a juice.
Fries were in a cup with MET logo.
The sandwich was actually grilled on a grilled and had appetizing marks.
Juice was 100% juice but the first ingredient was water.
It's a mix of apple, orange, cherry and grape juice, and it's refreshing and fruity.
From the side, I could see the cheese wasn't melted.
The breads were buttered and smelled good, and it's the very classic grilled cheese as it's yellow American cheese between white breads.
The edges were warm but the cheese in the center was cold, and I could see 3 layers of cheese clearly.
It's nice to have such a generous amount of cheese, but non-melted and firm cheese were disappointing as it's just like a "cheese sandwich."
If they call it "grilled cheese," I'd like them to improve the process to make the cheese melt.
Fries were unsalted and I thought there'd be less chance of overabundance of salt.
There're ketchup, salt and pepper so that you can pick them up as you wish.
When I finished, I flipped the cab box and found something at the bottom.
There're actually windows to be cut out, folded and inserted.
It's a nice looking box from the first, but adding the front glass actually made the box even better.
If you get this kids meal, don't forget to look at the bottom and perfect the look.

今日は雪が降っていたけれど、メトロポリタン美術館へ行ってきた。
もう3月20日なのに突然の雪で、しかも視界がものすごく悪い。
天気が悪いので混んでいないかと思っていた予想に反し、普段の平日よりも混んでいた
気がした。（雪のため会社が閉まっていたり、休校だったりしたのかも）
これまでに見たことがなかった空間を見て回り、その後グラウンドフロアにあるカフェ
テリアに行った。
この階数表示にかなり困惑してしまった。
と言うのも、英国英語のグラウンドフロア（Ground Floor）と米国英語のファースト
フロア（First Floor）は両方とも1階を表すので、表示を見て「!?!?!?!?」となった。
カフェテリアでは沢山の種類の食べ物があり、寿司まであった。
「グリル」にはハンバーガーや子供向けメニューがあり、入り口から1番近いためか
かなり混んでいた。
子供用メニューの「タクシー キャブ」の後ろには、「12歳以下の子供用」と書かれていた
けれど、年齢確認はないので注文することができた。
タクシー キャブにはニューヨークの地名が使われた、以下の種類があった。
タイムズスクエア；チキンテンダー（ササミのフライ）
ブロードウェイ；グリルドチーズ
コニーアイランド；ホットドッグ
リトルイタリー；パスタ（ペンネ、マリナラソース）上記はいずれも果物かチップス、フライドポテトから1つと、果物ジュースか牛乳を選ぶ
ことができる。
* コニーアイランドを除いた場所は全てマンハッタン区にあり、なぜブルックリン区にある
コニーアイランドが含まれていたのか気になったけれど、メニューがホットドッグだった
ので、すぐに納得できた。 ← ネイサンズのホットドッグ大食い大会の開催地
私はグリルドチーズが入った「ブロードウェイ」を注文した。
商品を受け取ると、黄色いタクシー型の箱に入っていて驚いた。
レジで店員が「ジュースを忘れていますよ」と教えてくれたので、キッチンに戻り1パック
取ってきた。
ポテトはメトロポリタン美術館のロゴが入ったカップに入っていた。
グリルドチーズはパニーニプレスではなく波形の鉄板の上で焼かれていたので、綺麗な
焼き目が付いていた。
ジュースは果汁100％と書かれていたけれど、原材料名の最初に載っていたのは水だった。
リンゴ、オレンジ、チェリー、ブドウが混ざったもので、すっきりしていてフルーティー
だった。
グリルドチーズを横から見て、チーズが溶けていないと分かった。
バターが塗られたパンは香りが良く、白パンに黄色いアメリカンチーズが挟まれた、昔
ながらのグリルドチーズといった印象だった。
縁は温かかったけれど、中心のチーズが冷たく、3枚のチーズが重なった様子がはっきりと
見えたほど。
チーズがだっぷりで良かったけれど、溶けていないチーズが挟まれたものは正直グリルド
チーズではなく、単なる「チーズサンドイッチ」でしかないと思った。
グリルドチーズと呼ぶなら、チーズが溶けるよう改良・改善希望。
ポテトは塩がかかっていないので、塩分過多になる心配が少ないと思った。
ケチャップ、塩、胡椒は備え付けてあるので、好みで取る。
食べ終わってタクシーをひっくり返してみると、点線に沿って切り抜いた後半分に折って
フロントガラスにする絵を見つけた。
写真では見にくいけれど、ワイパーが付いた面がボンネットおよび車の前面に向くように
切り込みに差し込む。
元々良い作りだったけれど、フロントガラスが付くだけでさらに良い見た目になった。
もしキッズミールを注文する際は、この作業をお忘れなく。
