Uncle Gussy's

(Japanese follows. /

I've heard Uncle Gussy's is one of the popular food trucks in Midtown East, and yesterday, I tried it for lunch.
It's a traditional Greek cuisine truck, and they have chicken and lamb besides vegetarian options.

I got there around 1:15 PM and there're about 5 people ahead of me.

But the service was very quick and my turn was up fast.
For protein, I chose a "Combo" that is gyro and chicken.
For fix, I got a "Rice Platter."
For style, which was sauce, I got "Greek & Spicy" that is hot sauce with tzatziki sauce.

In about 30 seconds, I got this plate.
And it's only 7 dollars.

Over the yellow rice, there're generous amount of chicken and gyro, also there're lettuce and tomatoes which were both ver fresh and didn't have any brown parts.

All the chicken pieces seem to be white meat as they had some texture.
It's well seasoned and had rich flavor other than black pepper.

Gyro was very large, it could have been 20cm (7.9 inch) long, and I had no idea how to eat it without knife, but it's so juicy and soft that I could cut it with the plastic fork.
This lamb didn't have any odor at all and I really liked it.

Yellow rice was moist, cooked al dente, and so flavorful like saffron.

The red sauce had some tangy spiciness but with refreshing and yogurt base tzatziki, my mouth wasn't burning.

The ingredients were similar to what The Halal Guys serves, but I think they use thigh meat and I didn't like the white sauce.
And I liked this Uncle Gussy's much better as the white sauce was actually enjoyable and the chickens were all white meat.

Combo Rice Platter: 7 dollars (tax incl.)
