Ice Cream From Master Softee, Not Mister Softee

These days the weather is nice and getting warmer in NYC, and the warmer it gets, the more ice cream trucks came out.
One of the episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" was related to Mr. Softee Ice Cream Truck and I wanted to try the ice cream.
Mr. Softee is a US based ice cream truck franchiser founded in Philadelphia in 1956.
Near Columbus Circle, I found a white truck with a familiar character and font on the truck so I bought one vanilla cone and took a photo of the ice cream with the truck.
Then, I noticed it said "Master Softee," not "Mister Softee."
WHAT!?!?!?!?!
I was just speechless and had no idea the too-similar Master Softee was even legal or not sued.
Actually I saw a lot of copycats of Halal Guys with similar yellow sweatshirts and yellow bags, too, so I guess "too similar but technically not the same" is ok here???
For the reference, this is the real Mister Softee (screen shot from HP).
As I bought one and paid, all I can do is eat and review the one I got.
The ice cream was rich and think, but it's more like "milk flavor" since there's no vanilla beans.
It didn't melt quickly but slow and gradually melted.
Diameter of the cone was pretty small and the ice cream over it was skinny and almost straight, not swirling.
The ice cream had good flavor, creamy texture, and tasted good.
I was upset first, but the quality didn't let me down at least.
It's 3 dollars and to me, it's a little bit expensive for this portion, so I asked my husband if it's rip-off price, then he said due to the convenience that we can buy freshly squeezed ice cream, these trucks would be more expensive.
So at least the didn't rip me off besides the brand name.
They had a lot of flavors, and on the left top, they even had Sponge Bob ice cream!

見かけるようになった。
「ラリーのミッドライフ★クライシス」（原題：Curb Your Enthusiasm）のエピソードで、アイスクリームの
トラック「ミスター・ソフティー」が出てきたので、一度食べてみたいと思っていた。
ミスター・ソフティーとは、1956年にフィラデルフィアで設立されたアイスクリームトラックの
フランチャイズ企業。
コロンバスサークル近くに見慣れたキャラクターとフォントのトラックが停まっていたので、
バニラコーンを買った。
アイスと一緒にトラックの写真を撮っていた時に気がついたのは、トラックに書かれていた文字は
「ミスター・ソフティー」ではなく、「マスター・ソフティー」だということ。
え？ なに？ ミスターじゃないの？？？
こんなに似すぎた「マスター・ソフティー」が違法ではなく、訴えられていないのか気になった。
実際、ハラル ガイズを真似たフードトラックが沢山出ていて、元祖のお店とそっくりな黄色の
トレーナーや黄色の袋を使っている。
ここでは「酷似しているけれど、実際は違う物」ということで特に問題がないのか？と唖然。
既に購入済みだったので、とりあえず食べてレビュー。
濃厚なアイスで、バニラビーンズは入っていない「ミルク味」と言った方が正しいフレーバー。
すぐに溶けずにゆっくり溶けていった。
コーンの直径は小さく、細めの作りでアイスも渦巻きソフトではなく、ほぼストレート。
アイスクリームは味がしっかしていて滑らかでとても美味しかった。
騙された！と思ったけれど、味は悪くなかった。
この大きさで3ドルだったので、ぼったくりかと思い旦那に聞いたところ、その場でトラックから
ソフトクリームを買えるため、便利な分料金が高めのことが多いと教えてくれた。
アイスクリームの種類は沢山あるらしく、スポンジボブのアイスクリームもメニューにあった。
