Afternoon Tea At Rose House
ローズハウスのアフタヌーンティー

A friend of mine recommended an afternoon tea place in Flushing, Queens called "Rose House," and she arranged a reservation and I got to try their tea and confectioneries today.
There's a large vase in the hall and the entire section was filled with floral and sweet rose scent.
When we're seated, a waitress poured water to the glass.
Each of us received 2 menu books and one was a list of tea, and the other was food.
3 of us got 1 Kid's Afternoon Tea Set to share.
I got Summer Blueberry Fruit Herbal Tea as the tea I chose first wasn't available.
First, a 3 tiered high tea stand was brought, not tea.
On the top, there're confectioneries.
Middle plate had a scones and cookies.
At the bottom, there're sandwiches.
English Sandwiches
It's ham, cheese and tomato sandwich with white bread with thick layer of mayonnaise.
When we started eating, they brought tea.
There's a thin slice of fresh apple, and it was adding refreshing scent to the rose flavored tea.
All the plates had flower motif including a pot.
The pot was placed over a candle so that the tea was kept warm for a long time.
Eclair
It's not written in the menu.
There's smooth custard cream inside.
Ice Cream
It's placed between jam for scone but and creme brulee, and first I thought it might be whipped cream.
However, as it's melted and didn't keep the shape as it was when it's served, I figured it's ice cream.
It's very sweet and runny.
Scottish Shortbread
It's a buttery cookie with some chocolate chip inside.
House Cake
Crushed cookies were used at the bottom, and soft centered cake was covered with white chocolate layer.
It tasted like rare cheesecake with white chocolate.
It's quite sweet and hard to cut it as the white chocolate layer was sticky but the inner side was soft, and the bottom was fragile.
Mini Cake
This wasn't listed in the menu either.
It tasked like caramel and topped with dried rose petals.
The sponges were like biscuit, so I laid it to eat as if it's a mill-feuille cake.

友達がクイーンズのフラッシングにある「ローズハウス」というお店のアフタヌーン
ティーに誘ってくれ、今日行ってきた。
お店に入ってすぐに大きな花瓶があり、ピンクのバラが沢山いけてあって辺りに甘い
香りが漂っていた。
席に着くとグラスに水を注いでくれ、2冊のメニューが渡された。
1つはお茶のリスト、もう1つは食べ物が載っていた。
3人でキッズアフタヌーンティーセットを1つ頼み、私は ワマーブルーベリーフルーツ
ハーブティーを頼んだ。
（他のお茶を飲みたかったけれど、ないと言われたため）
最初にお茶ではなく、3段のハイティースタンドが出された。
上からデザート、真ん中にはスコーンなど、下にはサンドイッチなどが乗っていた。
イングリッシュサンドイッチ
白いパンにハム、チーズ、トマトが挟まれていて、マヨネーズがたっぷり塗られていた。
食べ始めた頃になってお茶が出された。
カップには 薄切りのリンゴが入っていて、バラの香りがするお茶に爽やかな風味を足して
いた。
ポットを含む全ての食器にバラがデザインされていて、ポットの下にはキャンドルが
置かれ、温かい状態を保っていた。
アイスクリーム
スコーン用のジャムとクレームブリュレの間に置かれていたので、スコーン用の生
クリームかもしれないと思ったけれど、出された時の形ではなく溶けていたのでアイス
クリームだった。
かなり甘く、さらさらの食感。
ショートブレッド
バターの風味があるクッキーで、チョコレートチップが入っていた。
ハウスケーキ
砕いたクッキーが底に使われ、 柔らかいケーキがホワイトチョコレートの生地で覆われて
いて、レアチーズケーキとホワイトチョコレートを足したような味だった。
かなり甘く、ホワイトチョコレートの層はべったりし、中は柔らかく、底のクッキーは
もろかったのでフォークで切るのは難しかった。
ミニケーキ
これもメニューに載っていなかったもので、キャラメルのような味がし、乾燥したバラの
花びらが上に乗っていた。
スポンジはビスケットのように硬さがあったので、ミルフィーユを食べるように横に
倒してから食べた。
