Nissin launched a "creative series" instant Udon noodles "Nissin Donbei Carbonara Udon" on January 16, 2017.
Its first flavor was "Mentaiko Cream Udon" sold in September in the previous year, and this is the 2nd flavor.
* Mentaiko (明太子) is spicy cod roe.
Usually Donbei is in a flatter and shorter Donburi bowl, and it's my first time to eat Donbei in a cu that is used for Cup Noodles.

On the right side of the cup, there're a rabbit and a frog carrying cups of instant noodles in a wooden tub.
The frog says, "うまうま (uma-uma)" meaning "tasty" often used with toddlers. <--- I say this to my furry family members when I feed them.

When I opened the lid, it already had the characteristic cheesy and bacon-y Carbonara scent.

I poured hot boiling water to the inner line (420ml) and waited for 5 minutes.

5 minutes later, all the toppings were rehydrated.

It became lightly starchy and pale yellow after I mixed the soup well.
I think the base is Japanese style soup (wafu- dashi broth, 和風出汁) so that it's creamy but not too rich or heavy even though it's made with cheese powder.
Also it had a nice kick of black pepper.

The noodles were as smooth, silky, and chewy as regular Donbei and they're flat.

There're cabbage, bacon, eggs and string beans, but they tended to sink at the bottom so that I had to keep stirring the soup while eating.
I don't like eggs in instant noodles as they are similar to sea sponges, but these eggs were similar to soft and smooth scrambled eggs, and I actually liked them.

There're still lots of black pepper at the bottom of the cup after I had the whole soup.

The carbonara soup was flavorful with cheese, onions and black pepper, and it's an interesting combination but really good.

2017年1月16日、日清から創作系うどんシリーズ「日清どん兵衛 カルボナーラうどん」が

発売された。
これは前年9月に発売された「明太子クリームうどん」に続く第二弾商品。
どん兵衛は通常平たいどんぶり型のカップに入っているので、カップヌードルと同じこの
形状でどん兵衛を食べるのは初めて。

カップの右側に、カップ麺が入った木の桶を担いだウサギとカエルが描かれていた。
カエルが「うまうま」と言っている。<--- 幼児に使う言葉だけれど、私はペットにエサを
あげる時に言っている。

蓋をめくると、既にカルボナーラの塔口調的なチーズとベーコンの香りがした。

カップ内側の線まで熱湯（420ml）を入れ、5分待った。

5分後には全ての具材が戻っていた。

よくかき混ぜると淡い黄色のスープになり、少しとろみがあった。
素が和風出汁なのか、チーズパウダー入りのスープでクリーミーがありながらも、意外と
あっさりしていた。
また、黒胡椒も効いていた。

麺は通常のどん兵衛と同じでつるつると滑らかでもっちりし、平たかった。

キャベツ、ベーコン、かきたま、インゲンが入っていたものの、重たいのか底に沈み
がちで食べながら絶えずかき混ぜる必要があった。
いつもはカップ麺に入っている卵は海綿スポンジのようで苦手なのだけれど、これは
ふわふわのスクランブルエッグのようにつるっとして柔らかかったので、美味しく食べ
られた。

スープを飲んだ後も、底に黒胡椒が沢山残っていた。

チーズやタマネギの味がする胡椒の効いたカルボナーラスープで、意外な組み合わせ
だったけれど美味しかった。
