Nissin Cup Noodles "Tom Yum Goong"

(Japnaese follows. /

Nissin added a new flavor to Cup Noodles called "Tom Yum Goong" on April 14, 2014.
However, the sales exceeded the estimate and Nissin had to announce the abeyance on April 22.
I kept looking for this flavor in Tokyo but I never found any single one even before the announcement, so I texted my mom and asked her to buy if she finds any.
Next day, she texted me to inform that she found it and bought 2 of them in Toyama, my hometown.

This is the Cup Noodles Tom Yum Goong.

On the cup, it says it's Nissin Thailand cooperated this product.

This label says that in Thailand, creamy and rich Tom Yum Goong is a boom.
Cup Noodles is produced and sold in Thailand so that Nissin could catch the popular flavor fast to recreate.

There're images of Thailand; a bowl of noodle, a temple, and spices.

On the lid, there's a mini pouch of Tom Yum Paste to add.

At the bottom, there's a sticker to tape the lid while cooking.

In the cup, there're shrimps, mushrooms, cilantro and red peppers.
It ha lemongrass scent.

After pouring hot boiling water to the line inside of the cup, I closed the lid and used the sticker to let the lid stay down, then I placed the sachet over the lid to warm it up as directed.
About 3 minutes later, I opened the lid and squeezed the paste.

The paste was reddish brown and had authentic Tom Yum Goong flavor.

Before putting the paste, the soup was beige, but after adding the paste, the soup became reddish beige with sour and spicy scent.

The noodles were regular Cup Nooldes' ramen so it has some sweetness from wheat.
As it's wavy, it caught soup really well with some red peppers and cilantro.
The paste tend to sink so that I had to mix the soup constantly to keep it even.
The soup with the classic Tom Yum Goong paste tasted very good with strong lemongrass flavor, but with the noodle, it became slightly sweeter.

Overall, it was quite good but I don't find it that great to be sold out and needed to be stop the sales.

By the way, I felt weird when I saw the package.
The reason is it's said "Cup Noodles" in plural but in Japan, it's singular, "Cup Noodle," thus I felt awkward to see something I'm not used to seeing.
Nissin modifies the name and spelling depending on the sense of people in the countries and areas, and it's their "glocal (global + local)" strategy.
