(Japanese follows. /

Before I start, I'd like to mention that the package spelled "Tom Yam Goong."
When I looked up on internet, it always asked me if I meant "Tom Yum Goong" which is more common  so I think the one on the cup is misspelled???

* One of the readers mentioned that it's spelled with "a" in her country, so the spelling may differ.
This cup noodle was found at Aeon Festa where I bought Tom Yum Goong flavored Kappa Ebisen.
As it's manufactured in Thailand, the cup has Thai and the cup itself was thin plastic, not foam cup I'm used to seeing.
And also, outside of Japan, it's plural so it's named "Cup Noodles," not singular "Cup Noodle" in Japan.

I tried another Cup Noodles Tom Yum Goong flavor the other day, which is produced by Nissin collaborated with Thai Nissin.

On the other side of the cup, there're Thai.
From the top to the bottom, I think it's Nissin, Cup Noodles and Tom Yum Goong.

On the side, there're small font explanations in Thai, but I had no idea what they're saying...
I could only tell to pour hot water and eat with fork, and this can't be cooked with a microwave.

However, on the lid, there's a bried direction in Japanese; let it sit for 3 minutes after pouring boiling hot water.
Also it says the cup will get hot so that I have to hold the lumpy parts on the upper cup.

Here I realized something different from Japanese packaging.
The plastic outside was very hard to cup since there's no tape to start peeling the plastic off or enough space to stick scissors in to cut.
Also, the lid was tightly glued so that it's very hard to open the lid, which never happens to instant noodles in Japan.

In the cup, there're some green onions, 2 dried shrimps and a pouch of seasoning.
It's got less toppings to compare with the other Tom Yum Goong Cup Noodles.

I didn't know if I was supposed to put the paste from the first but I assumed it's to be added before I eat it, so I took the pouch out.
I also thought the noodles were less in this cup, but I noticed that the noodles were touching the bottom of the cup.
Cup Noodle in Japan holds instant noodles in the middle (which means floating and not touching the bottom) so that the noodles can be cooked from the bottom and the top when you pour hot water.
And when I poured hot water, the cup got incredibly hot as it's mentioned on the lid.

Another different aspect was that the lid never stayed closed!
So I used a pouch of seasoning to leave it closed.

After 3 minutes it's fully cooked and I added the seasoning paste which had spicy and refreshing flavor.
I saw just green onions floating on the surface with diced cilantro, but no other ingredients.

With the appearance and taste, the following is the different points from the other Cup Noodles Tom Yum Goong.
1. Noodles were skinnier and whiter
2. Spicier
3. Less stinky
1. Noodles were skinnier and whiter
The noodles seemed skinnier and had less color.
Also they're almost straight when they're cooked and had no much flavor, which was good as I could enjoy the authentic soup well without tasting sweet noodle.

2. Spicier
I saw some red powdered in the soup and also tasted less sweetness in the noodles, so that the soup tasted spicier.

3. Less stinky
I'm sure it used fish sauce but it had less odor of the distinguished and necessary ingredient, so they might have used less fish sauce and also less cilantro.

In total, I liked this one better even though there weren't many toppings or unpleasant packaging.

「Tom Yam Goong」

    1. Oh, I see! I wonder why Wikipedia only shows "Tom Yum Goong" but not "yam" :S
