While waiting for a train at Grand Central Terminal, I saw Magnolia Bakery sold several kinds of cheesecakes.
As it's my first time to try their cheesecake, I bought the simplest version called "Vanilla Bean Cheesecake."

I ordered one cake over the showcase and the employee told me to proceed to the cash register.
However, when my turn was up, the casher asked me sarcastically, "Did you order yet?" so I told him that another employee said it'd be taken care of and I was told to go to the cash register.
Someone put a cake in a box, and I got my cheesecake in the end.

This is the way they put the cake in the box.
They literally grabbed the cake and threw into the box, which isn't really professional.

The cake didn't look as fancy as it looked in the showcase as the cream on the top was destroyed by the wrap they used to grab the cake.

From the side.
It looked like 6cm (2.4 inch) tall.

From the top.
It's about 8cm (3.15 inch) in diameter.

The bottom was cinnamon flavored cookie crumbles, it's soft and wet and the height was uneven.

The cream on the top was lightly sweetened and very fluffy.
In the cheesecake, I saw vanilla beans and the cake was smooth and rich but not as thick as New York cheesecake.
Also, vanilla flavor was so strong that I didn't really taste cream cheese in this cake.

Ordinary shops don't place the cake this way so I was quite upset.
If you're not in a hurry, I'd recommend other shops though there may be a long line.

グランドセントラルターミナルで電車を待っている間、マグノリアベーカリーで数種類の

チーズケーキが販売されいるのを見た。
マグノリアベーカリーのチーズケーキは初めて食べるので、最も簡素な「バニラビーン 
チーズケーキ」を選んだ。

ショーケース越しに注文すると、店員にレジに進むように言われた。
ただ、支払いの順番が来たらレジ係に「注文したの？」と嫌みな口調で聞かれたので、
「別の店員に注文し、レジに進めと言われたのですが」と言うと、異なる店員がケーキを
箱に入れていた。

箱を開けると、ケーキを掴んで放り込んだような状態で、プロらしからぬ入れ方だった。
上に乗っていたクリームが包み紙で崩れていて、ショーケースに入っていた時と見た目が
異なっていた。

高さは6センチ程度、直径は8センチくらいだった。
底にはシナモンの香りがする砕いたクッキーが敷かれていて、湿っていて、厚みは均一
ではなかった。

上に乗っていたクリームは甘さが控えめで、かなり軽い食感だった。
チーズケーキ部分にバニラビーンズが見え、ケーキは滑らかで濃厚さもあったけれど、
ニューヨーク チーズケーキほどは濃くなかった。
また、バニラの香りが強いためクリームチーズの味があまりしなかった。

通常の店舗ではこのような入れ方をしないので、かなり残念だった。
時間に余裕があるなら、並ぶのを覚悟で他店舗が購入するのが良さそう。
