I recently heard that a restaurant chain called Jonathan's sells very special french toast from 2 PM for a limited quantity.
And it's called "Soft And Fluffy French Toast" in English on the menu, but literal translation of Japanese name is "Soaked Overnight Soft And Slurry French Toast (一晩漬け込んだふわとろフレンチトースト)."

Mixed Berry and Caramel Banana, and these are limited time flavors launched on August 25, 2015.

All the kinds are sold from 2 PM as long as supplies last.
It's using maple syrup with honey... I wish they used real maple syrup.

1:55 PM, I got to a branch and asked if they have these french toast, and a waitress said it'd be available from 2 PM and let me sit at a table at 1:56 PM.
1:59:55 PM, I pressed a button to call a server.
2:00:05 PM, I ordered a plain to check the flavor well.

2:11 PM, a very hot french toast was served.

It says "Maple Syrup" but at the bottom, it's added "with honey."

The french toast smelled buttery and sweet since it's served.
And I could see the bottom was still lightly sizzling.

It's topped with powder sugar.

It's a thick slice of brioche and it seemed to be 4-5cm (1.57-1.96 inch) tall.

Crust of the brioche had light crispness and buttery flavor the most in the slice.
The surface touching the bottom of the pan had buttery flavor and saltiness and I think there's some butter in the pan.

The inside was so soft and fluffy that I didn't need a knife, it's as flabby as pudding and the sweetness was not too much or too little, and it's just perfect.

I poured all the maple syrup but I didn't find it too sweet thanks to the saltiness from butter, and I fully enjoyed this french toast.
It's the closest french toast what Hotel Okura serves I think.

I have no idea how fast this french toast gets sold out, but if you like french toast and even something cheap but tastes good, I highly recommend this.

レストランチェーンのジョナサンが、14時から数量限定でフレンチトーストを提供して
いると最近知った。
「一晩漬け込んだふわとろフレンチトースト」という商品名で、プレーン、ミックス
ベリー、キャラメルバナナがある。
ミックスベリーとキャラメルバナナは2015年8月25日に発売された期間限定商品。

どの種類も14時から数量限定で発売開始となる。
はちみつ入りのメープルシロップが使われていて、本物のメープルシロップではないのが
残念。

13:55に店舗に着き、店員にフレンチトーストがあるか聞くと14時からの販売と教わり、
13:56に席に着いた。
13:59:55にボタンを押して店員を呼び、味がよく分かるようにプレーンを14:00:05に注文
した。
14:11に熱々のフレンチトーストが出された。

フレンチトーストが出された時から、ずっとバターの香りと甘い香りが広がっていた。
また、鍋底はまだ少しフツフツとなっていた。
パンの表面には粉砂糖がかかっていて、ブリオッシュは4〜5センチほどの厚みがあった。

ブリオッシュの耳は軽くサクサクし、特にバターの風味があった。

鍋底にもバターが敷かれていたのか、触れていた面に良い香りとバターの塩気があった。
中はとろとろでフォークがなくても切れるほど柔らかく、プリンのようにぷるぷるして

いて、丁度良い甘さでこのままで十分美味しかった。

メープルシロップを全部かけても甘すぎず、バターの塩気もあって最後までぺろりと食べ

られた。

これまでに食べたフレンチトーストで1番ホテルオークラのものに近かったと思う。

どのくらい早くこのフレンチトーストが売り切れるかは分からないけれど、フレンチ

トーストや手頃な価格でも美味しいものが好きな人にはかなりお勧め。
