After having Super Burger at Super Duper Burgers, my host sister took me to her favorite cupcake shop called Sift Dessert Bar on California street in Lower Pacific Heights.

The appearance of the shop was very simple; white wall with "Sift" in pale pink.

There're so many colorful confectioneries.

A chandelier and some eat-in space.

I chose a red velvet cupcake and it's stored in this cute mini box.

"Hang on sugar, you're almost there"

A perfect fit.

This clearly means they create exactly same sized cupcakes with frosting.

Over a red cupcake, there's white frosting with very fine sugars in red.

They're so fine that I hardly noticed the rough edges while eating.

Thank God it's cream cheese frosting instead of buttercream.
It's thick, creamy, and smooth but the texture was heavier than that of Georgetown Cupcake which was much airier.
I'd say this frosting was more like dense instead of light.

The cake was soft and moist, and not too sweet.

The cupcake was sweet but not too much and the sponge cake was moist even though we bought it at night, and a good size to enjoy as a dessert.

There're more cupcakes that I was interested in, and next time I go to San Francisco, I'd love to go and try other cakes and confectioneries.

スーパーデューパーバーガーズでスーパーバーガーを食べた後、ホストシスターがお気に
入りのカップケーキ屋「シフト デザートバー」に連れて行ってくれた。
このお店はロウアーパシフィックハイツのカリフォルニア通りに面している。

白い壁にピンクで「Sift」と書いてあるだけの簡素な外観で、店内も白を基調とした明るい
雰囲気で、ショーケースには色とりどりのスイーツが並び、店内で食べるスペースも用意
されていた。
レッドベルベットを選ぶと、かわいい小さな箱に入れてくれた。
カップケーキがぴったりと納まっていて、どのカップケーキも同じ大きさに焼かれ、デコ
レーションされているのだと分かった。

赤いカップケーキの上には白いフロスティングが乗り、赤く着色された細かい砂糖が
かかっていた。
砂糖はとても細かかったので、食べている時にざらついた食感はほとんどなかった。
フロスティングはバタークリームではなく、クリームチーズで良かった。
濃厚、クリーミーで滑らかだったけれど、ジョージタウン カップケーキの方がもっと軽く
ふんわりしていて、これはどちらかと言うと「ねっとり」とした食感。

カップケーキは甘すぎることがなく、スポンジケーキも夜に買ったにもかかわらず乾燥
していなくて、デザートに丁度良い大きさだった。
他にも気になるカップケーキがあったので、次回サンフランシスコに行った時はまた立ち
寄って他のカップケーキやお菓子も食べてみたい。
