Cherry Blossom Cupcake From Georgetown Cupcake

After taking Transit Museum's tour early in the afternoon, we walked to Georgetown Cupcake in SoHo.
We got there around 4 PM and the small eating space was full.
To compare with a shop in Discovery Times Square, this shop had much more varieties.
They even had St. Patricks Day cupcakes today, March 22, while the celebration was March 17 this year.
On the wall, there're panels that looked like Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol.
I got a Cherry Blossom, which I already knew to get since my husband told me about the flavor before.
This flavor might be available only in March or during spring season.
Over a cupcake some pink chunks, there're white frosting and pale pink edible flower which was dusted with fine glitter.
From the outside, I had no idea what the objects in the cake were, and thought they could be salted sakura (cherry blossom) flowers.
The pink things were cherries and they're not dried but moist.
The frosting was cream cheese like Red Velvet.
It's as fluffy, light, and airy as the last time, and it had less crunchy surface so that I thought this cupcake was fresher than Red Velvet I had.
Sponge cake was heavier and less bouncy than Red Velvet and I think the main cause was the fluid content of the cherries, but I liked the sweet and subtly sour cherries in the cake.
In any case, it's much better than it's dried.
I think it's a matter of common sense, but I saw people occupying the tables who weren't even eating the cupcakes but just sitting there with empty cupcake wraps.
I wish there had been wiser and more kind people who would give the seats to the people who need them instead of staring at people who were ordering cakes and seeking a spot to eat.

交通博物館のツアーの後、ソーホーにあるジョージタウン カップケーキに行ってきた。
16時頃に着くと、イートイン スペースは全て埋まっていた。
タイムズスクエアの店舗に比べてカップケーキの種類がずっと多く、3月22日の今日でも
セント パトリックスデーのカップケーキが販売されていた。
（今年のセント パトリックスデーは3月17日だった）
壁にはアンディー・ウォーホルの「マリリン・モンロー」に似たデザインのカップ
ケーキのパネルがかかっていた。
旦那が以前行った時にあった「チェリーブロッサム」を頼んだ。
* チェリーブロッサムは桜の意味
恐らく3月または春の限定商品だと思う。
ケーキにはピンク色の塊が所々入っていて、フロスティングは白く、真ん中には淡い
ピンク色の花びらに細かいグリッターが付いていた。
外側からカップケーキを見ただけではピンク色の物が何か分からず、塩漬けの桜の花が
入っているのかと思ったけれど、食べてみるとしっとりしたチェリーだった。
フロスティングはレッドベルベットと同じ、クリームチーズだった。
前回のようにふんわりと軽く、表面のシャリッとした食感があまりなかったので、この前
食べたレッドベルベットよりも比較的新しかった（作ってから時間が経っていなかった）
のかもしれない。
スポンジケーキはレッドベルベットに比べてずっしりとし、ふんわり感が少なかった。
多分、その原因は甘くわずかな酸味のあったチェリーの水分にあると思う。
ただ、乾燥したケーキほど不味いものはないのでこれはこれで美味しかった。
良識の分野になるのだけれど、テーブルに座っていた人はカップケーキを食べておらず、
カップケーキの包み紙と一緒にただ席を占領しているだけだった。
商品を注文し、席を探している人をじろじろ見るのではなく、席を譲れる賢さと優しさが
ある人が多ければ良かったと思った。
