Birthday Cake Donut From Tim Hortons

While my husband was in Montreal, he read an article about Tim Hortons' new donut called "Birthday Cake Donut" was given free to celebrate its 50th anniversary on May 17, that is the exact date the company was founded in Hamilton, Ontario.

Unfortunately he found the news after the 17th but he could purchase the donut.
I couldn't find nutritional information on the website, so it could be only sold at selected locations for as long as supply lasts.
He recently went to Montreal and brought me back a Birthday Cake Donut. Yay!
On the plane, someone put a bag over his bag, then the donut was smashed. Sad!
It's in a regular paper bag, not anything special.
I didn't bite but as the donut was soft and it's mashed by an anonymous person, it's broken and flatten a bit.
There're colorful confetti in the dough; blue, green, red and yellow.
It's a sugar glazed soft donut.
I tasted some interesting sweetness similar to cinnamon without any strong flavor, but it's not used so I don't know that it was.
Apparently they use potato flour, so the unusual sweet flavor was coming from potatoes.
It's not that sweet even though it's sugar coated and I could even eat 2~3 donuts at once.
I researched if in the states it's available but this Birthday Cake Donut wasn't mentioned.
However, they have Birthday Cake Timbits instead so I'm hoping to try and see the difference.

ケーキドーナツ」を配布したという記事を見つけた。
5月17日はティム・ホートンズがオンタリオ州ハミルトンに設立された日。
これまでに食べたティム・ホートンズ商品は以下。

プレッツェル ベーグルとチョコレート ドリーム ラテ
クリスピーチキン
フルーツ エクスプロージョン マフィン
グリルドチーズ
レモンポピーシードマフィン
ティムズ アルティメット シナモン バン

残念ながら旦那がその記事を見つけたのは17日以降だったけれど、お店でそのドーナツが
売っていたらしい。
栄養成分表の中にバースデーケーキドーナツを見つけることができなかったので、
もしかしたら限定店舗のみで数量限定発売なのかもしれない。
旦那が最近モントリオールに行っていて、バースデーケーキドーナツを買ってきて
くれた。
ただ、飛行機の荷物入れにあった旦那の鞄の真上に荷物を乗せた人がいたため、
ドーナツが潰れてしまった。
紙袋は通常のものと同じで、特別仕様ではない。
柔らかいドーナツ生地だったことと、見ず知らずの人に荷物を置かれて潰れていたこと
から、ドーナツの一部が欠けていて、少し平らになっていた。
生地の中には色鮮やかな点々（青、緑、赤、黄）が入っていて、グレーズがかかった
柔らかいドーナツだった。
シナモンの香りはしないけれど、それに近い味のする不思議な甘さがあった。
シナモンは生地に入っていないようだけれど、ジャガイモ粉末が使われているらしく、
もしかしたらあの変わった甘さはジャガイモなのかも。
砂糖のコーティングがしてあるドーナツだけれど、それほど甘くなくふんわりしていて
2〜3個一度に食べられそうだった。
アメリカのティム・ホートンズでもこのバースデーケーキドーナツがあるか検索して
みたけれど、見つからなかった。
その代わり、バースデーケーキ ティムビッツ（小さなボール型のドーナツ）という商品が
あるようなので、ドーナツとの違いを見るためにも食べてみたいと思う。
