My husband found new flavors of Cubic Doughnut available at Circle K Sunkus, so we went to look for them.

However, they're sold out and instead, we found this new sweet called "Cookie Baked Donut" and we bought "choco," which is an abbreviation of chocolate.

According to a source, it's launched on June 3, 2014, so it's pretty new.

My husband thought it's a "baked donut" not reading the package carefully, but as it's mainly sponge cake with a thin layer of cookie dough, it was very soft and fluffy.

My husband noticed there're interesting patterns at the bottom.
I think that there's no baking sheet under the donut, so that in the factory, they baked these donuts on a grill directly, thus these wavy patterns can prevent them from sticking on the grill and help them come off easily.

Like the visual and the texture, it's mainly a soft sponge cake with really thin cookie dough on the top.

The chocolate cookie dough on the surface was crispy and I enjoyed the crunchiness from sugar, too.
The sponge cake was chocolate flavored, and it's very soft, fluffy, and tasy.

Maybe the naming was a bit confusing as if it's mainly cookie since the noun is used at the first, so they could have named like "Baked Donut With Cookie" or something which can imply the concept that it's a baked donut with a bit of cookie.

旦那がサークルKサンクスで販売されているキュービックドーナツの新しいフレーバーを
見つけたと言っていたので、探しに行ってみた。
残念ながら新フレーバーは売切れていたけれど、その代わり新しい商品を見つけた。
それは「クッキー焼きドーナツ」という商品で、そのチョコ味を買ってみた。
調べたところ、2014年6月3日に発売された新商品。

旦那はパッケージをよく読まずに買ったので焼きドーナツを思ったらしいけれど、ビジュアルに
ある通りスポンジケーキの上に薄いクッキー生地が乗っているため、柔らかくふわふわだった。

ドーナツの底に変わった柄が入っていることに旦那が気づいた。
ベイキングシートが付いていなかったので、多分鉄板で直接焼いているのだと思う。
この波打った柄によって、鉄板にドーナツがくっつかずに綺麗にはがれるようになっているのでは
ないかと想像。

ビジュアルや持った感触と変わらず、やはりメインは柔らかいスポンジケーキで、その上に
極薄のクッキー生地が乗っていた。
上のチョコレートクッキーはサクサクし、砂糖のジャリジャリした食感もあった。
スポンジケーキもチョコレート味で、しっとりふわふわしていて美味しかった。

ただ、ちょっとした混乱を招くネーミングのような気がする。
「クッキー焼きドーナツ」という商品名は、クッキーが1番最初に来ているのでクッキーが前面に
出ているような印象だけれど、使われているクッキー生地は少ない。
なので、名前を付けるとしたら「焼きドーナツ クッキー乗せ」のようにあくまでも補助情報として
付け加える程度の方が実物を想像しやすかったと思う。
