Circle K Sunkus Has Created Fake Cronut Called "Cubic Doughnut"
サークルKサンクスからクロナッツに似せた「キュービックドーナツ」が新登場

I still haven't tried the real Cronut yet, but I've tried some copied products.

I wasn't impressed by either of them, besides there's nothing to compare due the lack of my experience of the genuine cronut...
On February 25, 2014, Circle K Sunkus, a conbini chain, launched "Cubic Doughnut" which was created after cronut.
As Circle K Sunkus is everywhere, easy to access, and no need to get in a long line to buy like the real one, I could get both kinds without any trouble.
There're 2 kinds; Strawberry & Milk Chocolate and Chocolate & Crunch.
On the rack, there're more strawberry version than chocolate.
It says that they fried the croissant dough and poured chocolate over it.
According to the website, the pie sheet has 48 layers.
Cubic Doughnut is produced by the Circle K Sunkus brand "Oishii Pan Seikatsu (life of delicious bread)."
Inside of the bag, there's a big croissant-looking object.
The package didn't say the weight but it felt heavy and even the package seemed a little bit too tight for this big donut.
The actual doughnut looked exactly the same as the image visual.
From the side, I could see thin layers.
When I bit, it's very soft and light, and there're big air pockets inside.
On the webpage, they say, "Please enjoy the crispiness from croissant dough and moist dough from doughnut," but it had no crispiness
Made in the factory, placed in a plastic package, and displayed at the conbini, thus, I understand it'd be hard to keep crispiness as if it's freshly created.
This Cubic Doughnut was much tastier than the one from B's Cafe and Mister Donut, besides it's cheaper and you can buy 24 hours as long as they have stocks at the conbini.

比較のしようもない。。。
2014年2月25日にコンビニチェーンのサークルKサンクスからクロナッツに似せた「キュービックドーナツ」が
発売された。
サークルKサンクスはどこにでもあり、行きやすく、長い列に並ぶ必要もないので、簡単に
イチゴチョコ＆ミルクチョコと、チョコ＆クランチの2種類を買うことができた。
棚にはイチゴチョコが多く並んでいた。
クロワッサン生地を揚げてからチョコレートをかけたもので、ウェブサイトによるとパイは48層
もあるらしい。
このキュービックドーナツは、サークルKサンクスのブランド「おいしいパン生活」が製造している。
袋の中にはクロワッサンに似たものが入っていた。
袋に内容量の記載がなかったので実際の重さは分からないけれど、ずっしりしていた。
ドーナツの大きさを見ると、若干袋が小さすぎる気がした。
ドーナツは袋の商品イメージと全く同じ見た目。
横から見ると、パイシートの薄い層がしっかり見えた。
一口食べると軽くて柔らかく、中には空洞が沢山あった。
ウェブには「クロワッサン生地のサクサク感と、ドーナツのしっとり感が楽しめる」と書いて
あったけれど、サクサク感はない。
工場製造＋袋詰め＋店頭に陳列＝出来立てではないので、サクサク感を保てないのは
仕方がないと思う。
このキュービックドーナツはB's Cafeやミスタードーナツのものよりもずっと美味しくて値段も
安く、コンビニに在庫があれば24時間購入可能。
