Mister Donut, a donut chain, launched "Mr. Croissant Donut" on April 1, 2014.
Mr. Croissant Donut is one of those copycat of Cronut originated in Dominique Ansel, NYC.
This Mr. Croissant Donut is baked in an oven after frying the croissant donut to create crispiness.

So far, I've tried the following Cronut-ish pastries.
B's Cafe (Banderole)
Mister Donut
Circle K Sunkus (Strawberry)
Circle K Sunkus (Chocolate)
La Cornetteria
D Liche
Dowhats (Choco & Crunch)
Dowhats (Caramel & Almond)

Yesterday, I went to one of the branches in Tokyo to buy all the 3 flavors of Mr. Croissant Donut, then I found a set of three kinds in a box so I bought it for 500 JPY (before tax).

On the top of the box, it's written in gold "Mister Donut Premium" in script.

From the left, Maple & Angel Whip, White Choco & Caramel Whip and Choco & Custard Whip.

Maple & Angel Whip
On the surface, it's maple flavored glaze.

Between the croissant, there's Angel Whip, very light whipped cream.

It's the crispiest Cronut-ish pastry so far.
But the inside, it's soft and sweet like classic croissant.

Choco & Custard Whip
Choco is an abbreviation form of chocolate.

To my surprise, this product was inferior; there's no custard filling!

I called the branch I bought it last night and explained that I rarely go to the branch, then an employee brought a new croissant donut. (review follows later)


White Choco & Caramel Whip
White chocolate coating on the top with crushed almonds.

This was also very crispy and the almonds were adding crunchy texture.

White chocolate coating wasn't that sweet so that the slightly bitter sweet caramel filling went well together.

About an hour later I called the shop regarding the defective product, a staff brought me another box of Mr. Croissant Donut.
They even gave me a new full set of Mr. Croissant Donut.
When I checked the inside, all the donuts looked shinier and fresher than those from last night.
Maple one has more white chocolate lines, Choco has more powder sugar, and White Choco has thicker parallel chocolate lines.

Choco & Custard Whip
It's chocolate coated donut with chocolate crunch powder sugar.

This one even crispier than the ones I bought last night and tasted fresh, too.
No greasy taste.

The filling was custard, but it's very light and mixed with whipped cream, so it tasted like whipped cream with a hint of custard.

Mr. Croissant Donut as the most delicious Cronut copycats among the ones I've had.
If you go and buy right after the shop opens, you might be able to buy the freshly prepared ones.

2014年4月1日に、ミスたドーナツから「ミスタークロワッサンドーナツ」を発売した。
ミスタークロワッサンドーナツとは、ニューヨークのドミニク・アンセルが開発したクロワッツを
真似た商品。
ミスタークロワッサンドーナツはサクサクの食感を出すために、揚げた後にオーブンで焼いてある。

これまでに食べた、クロナッツらしきものは以下の通り。

昨日、都内にあるミスドの店舗へ行き、全3種類を購入しようと思っていたら、あらかじめ3種類が
セットになった箱があり、それを買った。（税抜500円）

箱には金色の筆記体で「Mister Donut Premium」と書かれている。
確かに箱だけ見ると高級そうな印象。

箱の中には3つのクロワッサンドーナツが並んでいて、左からメープル&エンゼルホイップ、
ホワイトチョコ&キャラメルホイップ、チョコ&カスタードホイップ。

メープル&エンゼルホイップ
表面にメープル風味のシュガーコーティング、クロワッサンの間には軽いエンゼルホイップが
挟まれている。
これまで食べた「クロナッツもどき」の中で、1番サクサクしていた。
中身はクロワッサンのように甘くしっとりしていた。

チョコ&カスタードホイップ
フィリングを入れ忘れた不良品だったので、店舗に電話をし、買った店舗は普段行かない場所と
伝えたら、ホテルまで持ってきてくれた。（味は後述）

ホワイトチョコ&キャラメルホイップ
ホワイトチョコレートのコーティングの上にはクラッシュアーモンドが乗っていた。
これもメープル同様サクサクで、アーモンドがカリカリした食感を足していた。
ホワイトチョコレートは甘さが控え目で、ほろ苦いキャラメルフィリングの甘さと合っていた。

店舗に電話してから約1時間ほどで、代わりのクロワッサンドーナツが届いた。
中を確認すると、昨晩買ったものよりもツヤツヤしている気がする。
メープルにはホワイトチョコの線が多く、チョコにはシュガーパウダーがしっかりかかっていて、
ホワイトチョコには太目の平行なチョコの線が入っていた。

チョコ&カスタードホイップ
チョコレートコーティングのドーナツに、チョコクランチとシュガーパウダーがかかっていた。
これは昨日買ったドーナツよりもさらにサクサクで、油臭くなくて出来立ての味がした。
カスタードフィリングは軽く、ホイップクリームに混ぜられているので、カスタード風味の生クリームと
いった味だった。

これまで食べたクロナッツの模造品の中では1番美味しかった。
開店時に買うと出来立てサクサクのミスタークロワッサンドーナツが食べられると思う。
