Shibuya Parco Launched Kiki & Lala Cafe For A Limited Time
渋谷パルコの期間限定キキ&ララカフェ

Kiki & Lala are one of the oldest characters of Sanrio Company, Ltd. along with Hello Kitty and My Melody.
Kiki & Lala were designed for Christmas promotion in 1975, and originally, they're called "Little Twin Stars."
Kiki & Lala are twins, and Kiki is a boy and Lala is an older sister.
Currently, some goods are produced under the title of "Little Twin Stars" and others are "Kiki & Lala," character names.
On March 21, 2014, "THE GUEST cafe & diner" in Shibuya Parco collaborated with Kiki & Lala and opened a limited-time cafe called "Kiki & Lala Cafe" until the end of May.
I arrived at the cafe at 11 AM when the cafe opens, but there're already more than 100 people lining up and the line was going down to the stairs.
The cafe also has a goods shop and some can be only purchased here.
If you're only interested in the goods, you don't have to be in the line and just tell a staff that you're here to buy the goods and they'll let you come in to the goods store.
I started lining up as soon as I arrived (11:00 AM), and the line was very slowly moving as I had been waiting for a ride in Disneyland.
Around 11:35 AM, a staff came and provided a menu book.
It's really difficult what to choose as they're all cute!
Around 12:20 PM, I came close to the front side of the cafe.

A staff came and took orders from customers around 12:25 PM.
I asked if the hamburgers contain mayonnaise and he said there's tartar sauce in salmon burger, so I asked him to remove the sauce.
Then he came back after taking my order and asked if butter on the buns was ok, so I said butter is find.
I thought it's nice of him to make sure everything.
I also ordered a drink, then I waited in the line.
At 12:30 PM, I was seated finally --- 90-minute wait at this point.
On the wall, there're different patterns of Kiki & Lala tapestries.
There's a cute Kiki & Lala place mat on the table.
* You can take this place mat with you.

Soon a glass of water was brought and my drink was served.
Each special drink comes with a Kiki & Lala paper coaster.
There're 5 kinds but it's randomly chosen, and you can take this one home also.
I ordered "Magical Sweet Tea" which is a blue liquid but once you pour it into a glass, it becomes pink.
Magical Sweet Tea
A tall glass with crashed ice and white liquid at the bottom, and a jar of blue liquid were served.
A mini bottle of blue or purple liquid.
The lid was silicon and it's easy to take it off as it's soft.
I took a video how the color changed.
First it was purple-blue, but it gradually became pale pink.
Though it's named "Sweet Tea," it didn't taste anything like tea but coconut.
I researched what Mallow Tea was, then it's a blue tea which almost has no flavor or taste and heals sore throat and cough.
In the glass, there're star-shaped pineapples and nata de coco.
In about 10 minutes, my hamburger plate was served.
Little Twin Stars Hamburger Plate
This plate contains 2 kinds of burgers; beef patty burger and salmon burger.
Kiki (blue) is beef burger and Lala (pink) is salmon.
Besides two burgers, there're fries with a slice of crescent shaped cheddar cheese.
Lala; salmon burger.
On the top, Lala was branded with a hot iron.
Between the pink buns, there're salmon, tomato, lettuce and cream cheese (no tartar sauce).
The buns were soft and chewy, and as they're toasted so that some parts were crispy.
Tomato added sourness to the creamy and sweet cream cheese based salmon burger.
Kiki; beef patty burger.
There's Kiki on the top.
The buns had the same texture of pink buns and soft, chewy, and crispy.
On the side, there's a star-shaped mozzarella cheese.
Kiki burger was taller and more ingredients were used.
Beef patty was juicy, and the caramelized onions were very sweet.
This burger had various tastes and flavors; sour (ketchup), creamy (avocado) and crispy (lettuce).
The candy wrap on the plate didn't contain a candy.
But it's a pickle!
Fries were so skinny and very crispy.
A mini cup of ketchup was served, but I enjoyed the fries as they were.
To be honest, I'm not that big fan of Kiki & Lala, thus if it's just an ordinary cafe, I might have not visited there.
However, the magic word "limited time only" dragged me to the cafe, and I didn't have much high expectation for the foods or the customer service.
Yet, the foods were quite good and the customer service was excellent.
There're more than 100 customers even before the cafe opened, but they're all treating each customers nicely, and the cashier happened to be the same person who took my order and he asked if the burger was ok / no mayo as I'd asked.
And before seating, the staffs asked if I wanted to take a photo with Kiki & Lala statue, so that I could take a nice photo of Kiki & Lala.

カフェに着いたのはカフェの開店時間である11時だったけれど、すでに100人以上が並び、
階段まで長い列が続いていた。
渋谷パルコの開店時間は10時なので、多くの人が10時過ぎから待っていたのだと思う。
カフェにはキキララ商品を販売するお店が併設されていて、カフェに入らずに購入することが
できる。
もしグッズにのみ興味がある場合は、店員にその旨を伝えるとショップへ案内してもらえるので、
カフェの列に並んで待つ必要はない。
到着してすぐの11時過ぎから並び始めたけれど、列の進み具合はかなりゆっくりで、
ディズニーランドの乗り物に並んでいるようだった。
11：35頃、店員がメニューを配り始めた。
表紙を含めて4ページあり、ドリンク、フード、デザートのメニューが1ページずつあった。
どれもかわいくて、選ぶのが難しかった。
12：20頃にはお店の正面にたどり着き、キキララでデコレーションされた店舗外壁を見られた。
12：25頃にスタッフが注文を取りに来たので、ハンバーガーにマヨネーズが入っているか聞くと
タルタルソースが入っているとのことで、抜いてもらうことにした。
注文後、スタッフが再度戻ってきてパンに塗ってあるバターは問題ないか確認に来てくれた。
バターは食べられるのでそのままで大丈夫です、と伝え、ドリンクも注文し、列で待った。
90分待った12：30に、遂に席へ。
店内の壁には数種類のキキララのタペストリーがかかっていた。
テーブルにはかわいいキキララのランチョンマットが置かれていた。
* これは持ち帰ることができる。
すぐに水が出され、しばらくすると注文した飲み物が出された。
スペシャルドリンクを注文すると、キキララの紙コースターと共に出され、持ち帰ることが出来る。
コースターには5種類の絵柄があり、無作為に選ばれて提供される。
私が注文した「マジカルスウィートティー」は、青いマロウ茶をグラスに注ぐとピンク色に変わるという
不思議なドリンク。

クラッシュアイスと白い液体が入ったグラスと、青色の液体が入った瓶が出された。
青色の瓶の蓋はシリコンで柔らかく、取り外すのが簡単だった。
色の変化を見るために、ビデオを撮った。（英語のレビュー内に動画あり）
最初は青紫だったのが、徐々に淡いピンク色に変化した。
「甘いお茶」とのことらしいけれど、お茶の味はせず、ココナッツのような味だった。
調べてみると、マロウ茶とは青いお茶で味や香りはほぼなく、咳や喉の痛みに効くお茶らしい。
グラスの中には星型のパイナップルとナタデココが入っていた。
10分ほどして、ハンバーガーが出された。

ビーフパティバーガーとサーモンバーガーの、1皿で2度美味しいプレートらしい。
青いキキがビーフパティ、ピンクのララがサーモン。
添えられているポテトの上には、三日月型のチェダーチーズが乗っていた。
ララ；サーモンバーガー
バンズにはララの焼印が押されていた。
ピンクのバンズの間にサーモン、トマト、レタス、クリームチーズが挟まれていた（タルタル抜き）。
バンズはとても柔らかく、もっちりとしていて、トーストされているのでサクッとした食感もあった。
クリーミーで甘いクリームチーズが乗ったサーモンバーガーに、トマトが程よい酸味を足していた。
キキ；ビーフパティバーガー
こちらはキキの焼印。
バンズはサーモンバーガーと同じく柔らかくてもっちり、サクッとしていた。
横には星型のモッツァレラチーズが添えられていた。
キキのバーガーは沢山の具材が挟まれていて、ララのバーガーよりも背が高かった。
中にはビーフパティ、アボカド、トマト、あめ色タマネギ、レタス、ケチャップがあり、ここに星型の
モッツァレラチーズを足した。
ビーフパティはジューシーで、あめ色タマネギはとても甘かった。
このバーガーは様々な味や香りがした；酸味（ケチャップ）、クリーミー（アボカド）、シャキシャキ
（レタス）。
お皿に乗っていたキャンディーの包み紙の中には、ピクルスが入っていた。
ポテトはかなり細いもので、サクサクだった。
小瓶のケチャップが添えられていたけれど、何もつけなくても美味しかった。
正直、私はキキララの大ファンではなく、単なるカフェだったら行ってないと思う。
期間限定という言葉につられて並び、食事や接客にはそれほど期待していなかったので、
意外なほど美味しく、親切な店員で驚いた。
開店前から100人以上が並び、常に列が長い状態だったけれど、とても丁寧な接客で、
レジ担当が私の注文を取った人で、会計時に「ハンバーガーは問題なく食べられましたか？」と
聞いてくれたほど。
また、入店前にはキキララと一緒に写真を撮るか聞いてくれるなど、落ち着いて写真を撮ることが
できた。
