Yamazaki, a Japanese baking company, launched "Dowats" on February 24, 2014.
Dowhats is a copied product of Cronut in NYC.

So far, I've had the following cronut-ish confectioneries below.
B's Cafe (Banderole)
Mister Donut
Circle K Sunkus (Strawberry)
Circle K Sunkus (Chocolate)
La Cornetteria
D Liche

They launched two kinds and luckily my husband could find me both of them!

This is Choco & Crunch Dowhats, and "choco" is an abbreviation of chocolate in Japanese.

Dowhats is square-shaped like Strawberry and Chocolate Cubic Donuts from Circle K Sunkus.

And on the package, it says, "It's crispy as if it's a combination of croissant and doughnut♪"

Dowhats Choco & Crunch has chocolate covered pie (or bread) topped with chocolate crunch and powder sugar.

The package was larger than Dowhats, so it was easy to take it out.

Like croissants and pies, there're many layers outside.

Chocolate was poured evenly and completely covering the top.

I saw two diagonal corners were mainly covered with chocolate crunch, and sugar was sprinkled randomly or it's just dislocated while it's transported.

After a bite, I saw layers inside like croissants and it's pretty soft.

As I'd imagined already, it's not crispy at all even though the package says, "crispy♪"

The texture and the taste was exactly the same with the Cicrle K Sunkus' Cubic Doughnut Choco & Crunch.

It's manufactured in a factory, put into a bag, and displayed at the shops, so it's obviously hard to keep it crispy I think.

It tasted fine but the copy line on the package doesn't seems to be coherent at all; it's not crispy, it's soft.

2014年2月24日に山崎製パンから「ドーワッツ」が発売された。

ドーワッツは、ニューヨークで流行っているクロナッツに似せた商品。

これまでに食べたクロナッツらしき物は以下。
B's cafe（バンデロール系列）
ミスタードーナツ
サークルKサンクス（ストロベリー）
サークルKサンクス（チョコ）
La Cornetteria

D Liche

フレーバーは2種類あり、旦那が2種類とも買ってきてくれた。

まずはチョコ＆クランチを食べてみた。

ドーワッツはサークルKサンクスのキュービックドーナツ（ストロベリー、チョコ）と同じく、四角い。

また、パッケージには「クロワッサンとドーナツを合わせたような新しいサックリ感♪」と記載。

ドーワッツ チョコ＆クランチはチョコレートがかかっていて、その上にはチョコクランチと粉砂糖が

振られている。

袋はドーワッツよりも大きく、取り出すのが簡単だった。

クロワッサンやパイの様に、外側に沢山の層が出来ていた。

上にはまんべんなくチョコレートが掛かっていて、対角線上の2つの角を中心にチョコクランチが

乗っていた。

砂糖は適当に振りかけられているのか、それとも輸送中にずれたのかは分からない。

一口かじると、中にはクロワッサンのような層があり、ふわふわの生地。

予想通り、袋に書いてある「サックリ感」は全くない。

食感も味も、サークルKサンクスのキュービックドーナツ「チョコ＆クランチ」と同じだった。

工場で製造後、袋に入れられた状態で売り場に陳列されているので、サクサク感じを保つのは

難しいと思う。

美味しく食べられたけれど、サックリ感はなく柔らかいため、パッケージの文言とは全く違う食感。
