Soft Serve Cereal Milk From Milk Bar
ミルクバーのシリアルミルク ソフトクリーム

After having Ukrainian pierogis at Veselka, we went to Milk Bar in East Village.
Milk Bar is a part of Momofuku, an award-winning group of restaurants owned by a Canadian chef David Chang.
Milk Bar is directed by a pastry chef Christina Tosi.
Before the door, there's a chalk drawing of the name and an arrow.
It says, "Line this way," so depending on time, this small shop gets full.
Inside of the shop was as small as it looked from outside.
A big menu board was right above the cash register.
On the counter, there're some cookies and "bombs" that are bread.
I ordered "Soft Serve Cereal Milk" as it's apparently the famous one though I was going to get Cereal Milk Jug.
It's served to the very top to the cup and I couldn't put the lid on without sipping some without spilling anything.
It was very smooth and icy cold.
I'd say it's more like "shake" than soft serve as it's poured into a cup and drink with a straw.
This Cereal Milk surprised me a lot as it looked like a simple soft milk ice cream, but I tasted and smelled corn cereal in the smooth content without having crunchy or weirdly sodden pieces.
There're 2 counters.
One was facing to a wall with paper napkins and straws.
Another was facing to the window.

イーストヴィレッジの「ヴェセルカ」でウクライナのペロギを食べた後、ミルクバーへ
行ってみた。
ミルクバーはカナダ人シェフのデイヴィッド・チャンが所有する、受賞歴のある
「モモフク」というレストラングループの1つ。
ミルクバーはペイストリーシェフのクリスティナ・トシが監修している。
お店のドアの前の歩道にはチョークで店名と矢印が描かれていて「ここに並んで下さい」
と添えられていた。
時間によってはこの小さなお店が混むのだと思う。
店内は外から見た通り、狭かった。
レジの真上にメニューが載った大きな黒板があった。
カウンターの上にはクッキー、ボムと呼ばれるパンも置かれていた。
シリアルミルクが入ったボトルを注文しようと思っていたけれど、シリアルミルクの
ソフトクリームが有名らしいので、それを頼んだ。
カップの上ぎりぎりまで注がれていたため、少し飲んでからではないと中身が溢れて
しまい、蓋をつけられなかったほど。
とても滑らかでキンキンに冷えていた。
ソフトクリームと言うよりは、カップに入っていてストローで飲むのでシェイクに近いと
感じた。
シリアルミルクは単なるミルクアイスクリームに見えたけれど、ふやけてブヨブヨに
なったシリアルが入っていないにもかかわらず、コーンシリアルの香りと味がした。
