Sakura Mochi Iri Funwari Yaki

(Japanese follows. /

Sakura Mochi Iri Funwari Yaki is a spring limited Dorayaki produced by Marukyo, and it's launched at the end of January, 2015.
Sakura --- cherry blossom
Mochi --- sticky rice cake
Iri --- in this case, it means "being in, inserted, or filled"
Funwari --- soft, fluffy, and airy
Yaki --- in this case, it means "being grilled or baked"

Sakura Mochi is a Japanese confectionery made with pink-coloerd sticky rice containing sweet red bean jam paste and wrapped with pickled sakura leaf.

On the side, same as the front, there're Sakura flowers and it says "春限定商品 (spring only product)."

On the back, there're descriptions about this Dorayaki.
"Sweet red bean jam and soft Sakura Mochi are wrapped in fluffy castella (Japanese sponge cake)."
In the pink circle, it says, "Spring taste with rich in Sakura flavor" in pink letter.
"In the castella and Sakura Mochi, we put Sakura leaves to produce rich flavor. Please enjoy the relaxed time with any drink you like."

The sentence in the green pop says, "Castella and Sakura Mochi contains chopped Sakura leaves!"
Letters in red says that the black dots in the castella are chopped Sakura leaves and you can eat them at ease.

On the left side, there're more introduction about this product with more Sakura.
"Harmony of Sakura Mochi with Sakura leaves and lightly sweetened red bean jam paste. Season limited, please enjoy spring lusciousness."

In the package, there're 5 individually wrapped Dorayaki.

The castella was pale pink and it's about 10cm (4 inch) in diameter.

The castella was about 1cm (0.39 inch) tall each.

First bite, I could only reach the sweet bean paste.

After second bite, reached Mochi in the center.
It's a lightly pink transparent gooey and chewy object like Gyuhi, Turkish delight.

There're some dark green (or almost black) dots in the dough and Mochi, and these were the Sakura leaves mentioned on the package.
The castellas were moist and soft, lightly sweetened, bean jam paste wasn't too sweet, and Sakura leaves had subtle characteristic flavor and added some saltiness.
It's a very enjoyable pink Dorayaki.
