Maruchan Instant Lunch Hot & Spicy Flavor With Shrimp

I tried an American Maruchan instant noodle for the first time.
In Japan, I've tried some, or a very few of them, but I don't think I've had any ramen.
The flavor I tried is "Hot & Spicy Flavor with Shrimp."
The side of the package had the same design as the top.
And it's different from those instant noodles in Japan as they sell the cups wrapped in plastic films but here, they put paper covers around the cup.
The lid didn't have any color except red and bout on white paper.
On the cup, a logo and "Instant Lunch" were written.
When I unsealed the lid, there're lots of orange powder and some freeze dried shrimps, carrots and green onions.
I poured hot water to the line and waited for 3 minutes, then re-opened the lid.
What I saw was lots of cooked noodles were almost at the top of the cup, and there's not enough space or room like Japanese instant noodles.
It had sour scent but a little spicy flavor, and I tasted more sourness than heat.
To me, the soup tasted similar to tom yum goong, a hot and sour Thai soup.
The noodles were unevenly colored, and some were white-beige but others were orange.
Usually instant noodles get very flabby and soft after 3 minutes, but this Maruchan were still tough and sort of al dente.
And though some noodles were at the bottom of the cup while I was eating, they kept the firm texture and wavy shape.
I started wondering if the noodles themselves are different from those in Japan as I eat the noodles with chopsticks but the photo on the lid was using a fork.
It might be necessary to have some hard texture to catch with a fork easily?
There're some questions about this noodle, but I thought it's not bad and I may buy this again.
However, I miss Chikin Ramen.

アメリカのマルちゃんのインスタント麺を初めて食べた。
日本ではいくつかマルちゃん商品を食べたことがあるけれど、ラーメンを食べた記憶は
ない。
今回食べたのは「ホット&スパイシー フレーバー シュリンプ」で、エビ入りの辛いもの。
日本のカップ麺とは異なり、カップの外側が厚紙で包まれていた。
（日本のカップ麺は基本的にカップにラップがかかった状態）
蓋は白色で、その上に調理方法が赤と青で書かれていた。
カップの側面には「マルちゃん」「インスタント ランチ」と書かれていた。
蓋をめくると大量のオレンジ色の粉が見え、フリーズドライのエビとニンジン、ネギが
見えた。
熱湯を線まで注ぎ3分待ってから蓋をめくると、戻った麺が上部ギリギリまで浮き上がって
きていて、日本のカップ麺のようにカップ上部に余裕がなかった。
酸っぱい香りがしたものの辛い香りはあまりなく、味も辛さより酸味が強かった。
スープはトムヤムクンに似ていた。
麺は不均一に色が付いていて、白い麺もあればオレンジの麺もあった。
熱湯を注いで3分経つと麺が伸びて柔らかくなってしまうけれど、このマルちゃんは固さが
残っていてアルデンテだった。
また、食べている間に麺がカップの底にあったのにもかかわらず、麺は固さと波打った
形状を保っていた。
これを見て日本と使用している麺が異なるのかと思い始め、もしかしたら日本では箸で
食べるけれど、こちらでは蓋の絵のようにフォークで食べることを前提とし、ある程度の
固さが無いと麺がフォークに絡まないのかも？
色々疑問が残ったけれど、そこそこ美味しかったので気が向いたらまた食べたい。
でも、やっぱりチキンラーメンが恋しい。
