I rarely drink coffee but when I hear "XX from NY is coming to Tokyo (or Japan)" or "It's popular in the states," I'd rather try the item(s) at the original location or at least one of the branches in the original country, assuming the line should be short or even there's no line.

I went to a Brooklyn-born coffee shop called "Gorilla Coffee" and visited the first location.
It's on the corner of Park Place, and there're various small shops near the street.

Menu

There're maps of Africa and South America where the coffee beans are from.

There're one counter with 3 chairs facing outside and about 11 tables with 2 chairs each.

The staff wasn't much of a talker but said, "Hi there" to everyone before taking order at the counter.
My latte was ready in about a minute or two.
The cup had a mix of Gorilla face with NYC skyscrapers and bridges.

Latte had a simple art with steamed milk.

The coffee seemed a little bit lighter brown than what Blue Bottle Coffee serves, and it's not as bitter while having fragrant and roasted coffee flavor.

The sourness was light and the steamed milk made it easy to drink as it softened the bitterness.

私は滅多にコーヒーを飲まないけれど、「ニューヨークの○○が東京（または日本）に

上陸」「アメリカで人気」などと聞くと、元祖店舗か少なくとも発祥の国にある店舗で
試したいと思い、列も短いか全く並んでないことも期待している。

今回、ブルックリン発のコーヒーショップ「ゴリラコーヒー」が最初に開店した場所に
行って来た。
パークプレイスの角にあり、周りには小さなお店が沢山並んでいた。

メニュー

店内にはコーヒー豆の産地であるアフリカや南米の地図がかかっていた。

窓側にカウンターと3脚の椅子があり、2脚の椅子が置かれたテーブルが約11卓あった。

店員は口数は少ないものの、「いらっしゃい」と言ってカウンターで注文を取っていた。
ラテは1〜2分で出来上がった。
カップはゴリラの顔とニューヨークの高層ビルや橋が混ざった柄だった。

スチームミルクで簡素な模様が描かれたラテ。

コーヒーはブルーボトルコーヒーのものよりも茶色が薄く、香ばしい香りがありながら
苦味も少なかった。
酸味は軽く、スチームミルクが苦味を抑えていて飲みやすかった。
