Shark Week Donut From Seven Eleven
セブンイレブンのシャークウィーク ドーナツ

My husband sent me a photo of unique donuts sold at Seven Eleven, and the donut had a gummy shark on the top.
Shark Week is an annual TV program featuring sharks on Discovery Channel, and it originates back in July, 1988.
Since then, they air a week-long program focused on sharks in summer, and the show begins on June 26 this year.
I've seen some fish tank shaped Slurpee cups and shark-mouth straws at Seven Eleven but didn't know it's for Shark Week but I simply thought it's just a summer promotion.
Today, I went to one of the closest locations and the door had Shark Week stickers.
Slurpee machine also had Shark Week special panel, and it's even made with 3D materials.
Unlike the location my husband went to, this branch didn't have any Shark Week advertisement and the price was 99 cents instead of 1.49 dollars.
Using a plastic sheet, I grabbed one donut and put in a plastic bag, then brought it the cashier.
They only charged me 99 cents (tax incl.) so I felt quite lucky.
A gummy shark was on top of the light blue icing and curled chocolate, the latter of which they described "chocolate curl surf."
The shark was about 10cm (3.93 inch) long and it's tough and chewy.
Finally after 3 bites, I got to the strawberry filling.
The filling was so rich and sweet that I felt thirsty afterwards.

The shark was as long as the donut.
First 2 bites didn't reach the filling and I tasted chocolate with soft yeast donut.

この前セブンイレブンで水槽型のスラーピーカップやサメの口の形をしたストローを見た
けれど、シャークウィークとは知らず、単なる夏のプロモーションだと思っていた。
今日近くの店舗に行くと、ドアにはシャークウィークのシールが貼ってあった。
スラーピーの機械もシャークウィークのパネルになっていて、浮き上がって見える加工が
してあった。
旦那が行った店舗とは異なり、ここでは特にシャークウィークとは記載されておらず、
値段も99セントのままだった。（旦那の写真は1.49ドルと書かれていた）
ビニールシートを使ってドーナツを1つ取り、ビニール袋に入れてレジに進んだ。
税込99セントだと言われ、ラッキーだった。
サメの形をしたグミが水色のアイシングとカールしたチョコレートの上に乗っていた。
このカールは波を表現しているらしい。
サメをよく見ると、目もエラ孔もあった。
サメはドーナツと同じくらいの長さだった。
最初の2口はフィリングに届かず、チョコレートと柔らかいイーストドーナツの味だけが
した。
サメは10センチほどあり、しっかりとした歯ごたえのあるグミだった。
3口目でやっとストロベリー フィリングにたどり着いた。
フィリングは味が濃くとても甘かったので、後から喉が渇いた。
