Roasted Nutty Chestnut Frappuccino From Starbucks

Today, September 1, 2015, Starbucks in Japan launched 2 chestnut beverages and 3 kinds of coffee & espresso cakes for a limited time.

The drinks are Roasted Nutty Chestnut Frappuccino and Latte that are available till the end of September, and the cakes are Honey Butter, Marron (chestnut) and Pumpkin which will be sold till November 4th while supplies last.

Today, I tried a Roasted Nutty Chestnut Frappuccino.

This Frappuccino provides various textured chestnuts, and they used compatible nuts and chocolate.

It's not mentioned in the menu, but I got the smallest size, which is called "Short."
* In Japan, the smallest cup is Short while it's Tall in the states; Short was only available for a limited time in the U.S.

When one of the staffs was squeezing the whipped cream out, it looked beige instead of white.
Then she added powder and yellow beige sauce.

Frappuccino had chunky chestnuts which I could still chew several times, and this is the most fragrant and the least sweet flavored with rich chestnut taste.
The whipped cream was also chestnut flavor and so was the sauce.
There're more chestnuts than I had expected, and till the very last sip, there're chunks of chestnuts.

According to a press release, they use chestnuts and roasted almonds and hazelnuts paste, and to add accent to the texture, they put chocolate chips and candied chestnuts.
The powder was subtly bitter cocoa powder.

It's not too sweet and I really enjoyed the fall flavored Frappuccino.

今日2015年9月1日、日本のスターバックスから2種類のチェスナッツ（栗）飲料と3種類の

コーヒー&エスプレッソケーキが期間限定発売された。
飲み物はロースト ナッティ チェスナッツ フラペチーノとラテ（9月末まで）、ケーキは
ハニーバター、マロン、パンプキン（11月4日まで）があった。
* いずれもなくなり次第終了

今日はロースト ナッティ チェスナッツ フラペチーノを飲んでみることにした。
このフラペチーノは様々な質感の栗が楽しめ、相性の良いナッツ、チョコレートが使用
されているらしい。
メニューには記載されていなかったけれど、1番小さいサイズでお願いした。
* 日本では最小サイズがショート、アメリカではトールが最小でショートは期間限定サイズ

スタッフの1人がホイップクリームを出すと、白色ではなくベージュがかっていた。
さらにパウダーと黄色いベージュのソースをかけていた。

フラペチーノは栗がゴロゴロと入っていて数回噛めるほどの大きさで、これまでに飲んだ
フラペチーノで最も香ばしく甘さが少なく、栗の味がしっかりと楽しめた。
ホイップクリームは栗味で、ソースも栗味だった。
栗が想像以上に沢山入っていて、最後の最後まで栗が出て来るフラペチーノだった。

プレスリリースを見ると、栗とローストしたアーモンドやヘーゼルナッツのペーストが
入っていて、チョコレートチップと飴がけした栗を混ぜて食感にアクセントを出している
らしい。
パウダーは少し苦味のあるココアパウダーだった。

甘すぎず、美味しい秋味のフラペチーノだった。
