I found apple flavored potato chips produced by Tomosiha the other day.
It's "Aomori Apple Flavored Potato Chips" and launched on August 3, 2015 for a limited time.

At the bottom, it says that they used apple juice from Aomori prefecture to create apple juice powder.

On the back.
"The largest amount of apples produced in Japan is Aomori apples.
Aomori apples were grown in a weather that has tremendous difference between daytime and night, but the weather actually creates crispy, juicy, sweet and sour apples.
We used juice from "Fuji" born in Aomori to provide the fragrance and sweetness with crispy potato chips."

There's a PR character of Aomori products called "Kimete-kun."

It smelled like apple pie but the sweet scent was very weak.

First it was sweet and fruity like apple juice, but soon saltiness appeared while the fruitiness was still in my mouth.

First chip tasted awful, but after about 5 chips, I got used to the weird flavor and didn't find it as mediocre as the first one.

I imagined it'd be similar to thinly sliced and dried apple chips but it turned out something different.
There're lots of fine powder covering the chips.

この前、トモシア ホールディングスのリンゴ味のポテトチップスを見つけた。
これは2015年8月3日に期間限定発売された「青森りんご味ポテトチップス」らしい。

袋の下には「りんご果汁パウダーの原料として青森県産りんご（ふじ）を使用」と記載
されていた。

裏面には以下が書かれていた。
「りんご生産量日本一の青森りんごは、1日の寒暖差が大きい気候の中で栽培されるため、
実の締まりが良く、みずみずしい食感と、甘味、酸味のバランスが絶妙です。
その中でも、青森生まれの「ふじ」の果汁を使用。
豊かな香りと甘みを、ポテトチップスのパリッとした食感でお楽しみください。」
また、青森県産品PRキャラクターの「決め手くん」が載っていた。

アップルパイのような香りがしたけれど、かなり弱い甘い香りだった。
甘くフルーティーなリンゴジュースのような味がし、まだ甘さが残っている間にすぐに
塩気が出てきた。
最初の1枚は不味いと思ったけれど、5枚ほど食べると徐々に慣れてきたのか最初に思った
ほど不味くは思わなかった。

薄くスライスして乾燥させたアップルチップスに似たものを想像していたけれど、全く
異なるものだった。 ポテトチップスには細かい粉が沢山付いていた。
