Tangerine Flavored Potato Chips From Koikeya
コイケヤのポテトチップス みかん味

My family found "Tangerine Flavored Potato Chips" manufactured by Koikeya besides Peach and Banana.
* Tangerine is "mikan" in Japanese.
I thought this Tangerine flavor was launched with 2 other flavors, but apparently, it's available since December 22, 2014. <-- They launched at conbini only at that time.
This tangerine flavor was created to introduce a new way to enjoy "tangerine in Kotatsu" which is a popular image of winter.
* Kotatsu (こたつ) is a table covered by a quilt and has an electric heater underneath.
The upper half of the front was filled with tangerines, and the bottom was potato chips.
On the right bottom, it says they used domestic tangerine and it's to create tangerine juice powder.
On the back, there's a frame with tangerines and leaves.
"Tangerine Flavored Potato Chips?!
Sweetness and sourness of tangerine and fragrant potato chips inexplicably go well, and it's a lightly sweet and refreshing new tasty potato chips."
This flavor had the weakest fruity flavor among 3, and it smelled like potato chips with subtle tangerine scent.
The tangerine scent was similar to peel, not flesh.
There're fine powder on the chips and they're much sourer than I had thought and actually had unexpectedly intense sourness.
But in the end, it's almost regular salted potato chips with some refreshing citrus scent.
The chips seemed slightly orange, while those of consomme flavor are much brighter orange.

家族がコイケヤから販売されているポテトチップス もも味、バナナ味に加え、「ポテト
チップス みかん味」も見つけてくれた。
他の2種類と同時に発売されたのかと思ったら、みかん味は2014年12月22日に全国の
コンビニで発売されたらしい。
みかん味は、冬の情景としてよく思い浮かべる「こたつでみかん」の新しい楽しみ方と
して開発されたとのことだった。
袋の上半分はミカン、下半分はポテトチップスの写真が載っていた。
右下には国内産のみかんが使われていると書かれていて、みかん果汁粉末の原料となって
いる。
裏面には、ミカンと葉で縁取りがされていて、中には「みかん味のポテトチップス？！
みかんの甘みと酸味が、香ばしいポテトチップスに不思議にマッチした、ほんのり甘く、
さっぱりとした、新しいおいしさのポテトチップスです。」と書かれていた。

3つの中で最もフルーティーな香りが弱く、ポテトチップスにほんのりとミカンの香りが
する程度だった。
ミカンの香りは果肉ではなく、皮に近かった。
ポテトチップスの周りには細かい粉が付いていて、想像していたよりもかなり酸っぱく、
予想外に強烈な酸味があった。
ただ、最後にはほぼ通常の塩味のポテトチップスで、ほんのりとした柑橘系の香りが
した程度だった。
コンソメ味は明るいオレンジだけれど、これは淡いオレンジ色に見えた。
