Pickles From Jacob's Pickles

When we went to Jacob's Pickles, we sure ordered some pickles besides false poutine.
There're 9 kinds of pickles, and it's 1 type for 4, 4 types for 11, 8 types for 16, and I thought of ordering 8 types.
But apparently the portion is quite large and I was suggested I get 4 kinds.
The waitress' recommendation was Big Dill Kosher Cukes, Sweet & Spicy Carrots, Dilly Green Beans and Hot Sour Cukes, so I ordered those.
It's my first time to see the word "cuke" and it means cucumber.
Each pickle was in a glass jar which was smaller than a soda can (355ml/12oz.) and set on a wooden board.
Dilly Green Beans
They're served with whole hot peppers and they added spiciness to the crunchy beans.
It had refreshing dill flavor to be called "Dilly" and also garlic flavor.
Big Dill Kosher Cukes
It's a simple and classic pickle seasoned with garlic and dill.
I don't like horseradish, but I didn't have pain in my nose or mouth when I was eating this.
Sweet & Spicy Carrots
It had sweet carrot flavor and crunchiness in the center like fresh carrots.
I thought it's turmeric, but the spice used in the juice was cinnamon.
Hot Sour Cukes
I'd like to try the rest next time.

ジェイコブズ ピクルスに行った時、偽物のプーティンと一緒にピクルスも食べた。
全部で9種類のピクルスがあり、1種類4ドル、4種類11ドル、8種類16ドルだったので、
8種類を注文しようとしたらウェイトレスに止められた。
どうやら1つ当たりの量が多いようで4種類を勧められたので、何が美味しいか聞いて
みると、ビッグ ディル コーシャー キュークス、スイート&スパイシー キャロット、
ディリー グリーンビーン、ホット サワー キュークスだったのでこれらを頼んだ。
初めてキューク（cuke）という文字を見たのだけれど、キュウリという意味らしい。
各ピクルスはガラスの容器に入っていて、木の板に並べられていた。
容器の大きさは355ml/12オンスよりも小さかった。
ディリー グリーンビーン
容器には唐辛子が丸ごと入っていて、カリッと下サヤインゲンに辛さを足していた。
「ディリー」と名付けられている通り、すっきりしたディルとニンニクの香りがした。
ビッグ ディル コーシャー キュークス
シンプルで昔ながらのピクルスで、ニンニクとディルで味付けされていた。
ホースラディッシュは好きではないのだけれど、食べている間に鼻や口が痛くなることは
なかった。
スイート&スパイシー キャロット
ニンジンの甘い風味と、生のニンジンのような硬さが中心にあった。
ターメリックかと思ったけれど、シナモンが使われていたらしい。
ホット サワー キュークス
ビッグ ディル コーシャー キュークスに比べて、かなり黄色が強く柔らかかった。
甘味、酸味、辛さがあり、その中でも辛さが1番強く出ていたと思う。
ガラスの容器には唐辛子が入っていた。
次回は他のピクルスを食べてみたい。

It had sweet, sour and spicy, and I thought the spiciness was the strongest flavor I sensed.
