Yamazaki Baking Co., Ltd. launched the top part only called "メロンパンの皮焼いちゃいました。 (Melon Pan No Kawa Yaichaimashita.)" in 2014 and it's very popular even though it's one of the weirdest things I've ever seen as it's solely the biscuit part of Melon Pan.
In January, 2015, they launched cocoa flavor with chocolate chips called "メロンパンの皮
焼いちゃいました。ココア風味 チョコチップ入り (Chocolate Chips And Cocoa Flavored Only The Top Of The Melon Pan.)"
Like the original, the period "." at the end is used.

Like the original flavor, the product was small and also the surface was fully covered with white sugar.

The bottom looked like a chocolate chip cookie.

The outside was light and crispy, and the inside was slightly soft, and it's basically a cookie.
Chocolate chips were sweet and the dough had a little cocoa flavor.

2014年に山崎製パンから「メロンパンの皮焼いちゃいました。」が発売された際、メロン
パンの皮部分のみというかなり変わった商品にもかかわらず、大人気となった。

2015年1月、今度は「メロンパンの皮焼いちゃいました。ココア風味 チョコチップ入り」
という商品が発売された。
プレーン同様、句点「。」がついていた。

元祖商品と同じように小ぶりで、表面には白い砂糖が沢山付いていた。
底の部分はチョコレートチップクッキーのようだった。
外側はサクっと軽く、内側は少し柔らかくクッキーとほぼ変わらなかった。
チョコレートチップは甘く、生地はほんのりココアの香りがした。
