甘熟いちごのパイの実
(Japanese follows. / 日本語は以下へ続く。)
Lotte launched a new Pai No Mi flavor on December 2, 2014 called "Sweet And Ripe Strawberry."
The kanji to describe "fully-ripened" is usually "完熟(Kan-juku)" but to indicate sweet and also ripe, they used "甘熟" here.
On the bottom, there's a suggested recipe of Pai No Mi, and it's to dip in chocolate fondu using Ghana chocolate, that is also a brand of Lotte.
Underneath the lid, there's a parody lyrics of a song from "Usagi To Kame," an old folk story "The Hare and the Tortoise."
And the lyric was created by a consumer.
There's an aluminum package inside and there's an arrow to follow so that it's easily opened.
When I opened the pouch, I smelled very sweet strawberry scent.
The surface of the pie was shiny and from holes, pale pink chocolate was flooding out.
From the side, it' easy to see the pie rose and puffed up.
The pie was very crispy and light, and chocolate in the middle had quite intense strawberry flavor.
According to a press release, they used freeze-dried strawberry powder, and I think that's why the fruity and sour strawberry taste was rich.
