Crepe From Creperie Du Marche
Creperie Du Marcheのクレープ

Today, I went to Marche Jean-Talon for the first time to spend my last weekend in Montreal with a friend of mine.
It's a big market and open every day with fresh food, processed food (cheese and meat), eat-ins and souvenirs shops.

There's a crepe shop called "Creperie Du Marche" in the market and we had lunch there.
Usually when I hear the word "crepe," I think of something sweet, but they have savory crepes, too.
As they use buckwheat for the crepe, it's "galette" in French, which served with cheese, meat, fish or salad.

I chose one of the savory crepes a.k.a. Crepes Repas called Tomates-Oeuf-Jambon-Fromage, which is tomatoes, egg, ham and cheese.
But I asked for no egg --- these years I don't like eggs that much, not allergic to it.
Just it's so random, but one of the waiters was able to speak very good Japanese and he said he did homestay in Tokyo for one year about 10 years ago.
His Japanese was very good and when we talked to him with regular speed, he understood perfectly.
It's funny that he said modestly, "No, no, no..." like Japanese people.

At the creperie, there're several circle hotplates to make crepes and they're making 2-3 at a time.
After pouring the crepe dough on the hotplate, they thinned the dough and put ingredients.
They already prepared one-portion cups with cheese and ham so that they could pour the cup directly to the crepe without measuring the weight every time.

* Without egg, so it's technically "Tomates-Jambon-Fromage."
The crepe was crispy thin and had rich flavor of butter.
Inside of the crepe, there're sliced tomatoes, ham and cheese.
It's seasoned with basil, salt and pepper, and the hint of pepper went well with ham and cheese.
Ham was thin sliced and soft, cheese was melted perfectly and very smooth.
Though the crepe was very thin, with it was quite filling with rich tasted ingredients and butter flavor.

I asked for no egg so they deducted some from the regular price (12.17 dollars).
10.43 + 2 kinds of tax = 12.00 + tip = 14.00 CND dollars
