Choco Masu Ice Cream
チョコますアイス

When I went to Toyama Airport, I found a weird and sounds-so-disgusting ice cream named "Choco Masu Ice Cream."
In the middle, it says "ますの寿し (Masu No Sushi)" and it's a trout sushi.
This ice cream inspired by the sushi also contains sushi rice which is cooked rice seasoned with vinegar.
The ingredients were listed on the back, and there're Koshi-Hikari rice from Toyama, trout and vinegar besides ordinary items used in ice cream.
"Toyama Kitokito Airport"
I don't remember when, but Toyama Airport changed its name to Toyama Kitokito Airport, and Kitokito is a Toyama dialect meaning "fresh" especially used for fish.

I tentatively a first bite, and I noticed sweet milk ice cream and chocolate, then gradually I started tasting salty and fishy flavor from trout.
The orange-pink is frozen trout and the oval white pieces were rice with vinegar.
The rice was insanely hard and I was even concerned if my teeth would be broken.
The wafers were light, crispy, and fragrant.
The milk ice cream was sweet and refreshing.
The chocolate sauce was crispy and sweet.
However, the trout flakes were "authentic" and I didn't expect it'd be that fishy and smelly.
The rice with vinegar wasn't as bad as I thought of, but I couldn't get over the combination of fish and sweet ice cream.

富山きときと空港へ行った時、かなり奇妙で不味そうなアイス「チョコますアイス」を
見つけた。
このますの寿しをアイスにしたもので、酢飯も入っていると書かれていた。
裏面にはアイスクリームに使われる素材に加えて、富山県産コシヒカリ、ます、醸造酢が
載っていた。
富山きときと空港という名前になったのはいつか覚えていないけれど、「きときと」とは
富山の方言で新鮮、活きがいいことを意味する。（特に魚介類に使う）
アイスはもなかの皮で挟まれていて、菊花紋章に似ていた。
恐る恐る一口食べてみると、ミルクアイスとチョコレートの甘さがあり、徐々にますの
塩気と魚臭さが現れた。
オレンジがかったピンク色の凍ったます、酢飯が見えた。
酢飯は驚くくらい硬く、歯が折れるかと思ったほどだった。
もなかは軽くサクサクし、香ばしかった。
ミルクアイスは甘くすっきりしていて、チョコレートはパリパリして甘かった。
ただ、ますフレークは思った以上に本格的でここまで臭うと思わなかった。
酢飯は想像していたよりも気にならなかったものの、甘いアイスクリームと魚は合わない
と思った。
