Mon Patissier's Rum Raisin / モン・パティシエ ラムレーズン
In winter, I see a lot of rum raisin flavored snacks.
Some contains heavy alcohol flavor and others don't.
Most of the time there's a warning that if you're weak, please be careful as it contains alcohol.
I'm kind of one of those but never really had problem by eating rum raisin snacks.
Patissier Miwa is an owner of Patisserie MIWA in Kamakura city, Kanagawa pref.
He used to work as a chef in Les Anges in Kamakura until he opened his confectionery shop mentioned above in 2010, according to the memo on the side of the package.
He supervised Kyodo Milk Industry Co., Ltd., is located in Chuo ward in Tokyo and it's founded in 1953, and launched rum raisin ice cream.
Not sure how long this products has been sold but package is different from 2 years ago.
I thought it sounded like he's a famous patissier so that this ice cream would be a little bit expensive like Haagen-Dazs.
However, it's sold about 100 JPY or less in a supermarket.
Maybe the retail price isn't that high.
When I opened the plastic lid, there's a little note from anonymous patissier, not sure if it's Mr. Miwa or not.
And there're some other notes like this but until you open the package, you don't know what your's says.

"Mutter of Patissier A dessert is a lead class second character."
I don't know if I could make it sound reasonable in English but to me, the Japanese line totally got me.
Even though desserts are served at the end and like a side dish, they affect people after eating meals and it's also a part of "dinner."
Opening the plastic message lid, I saw all white ice cream, slightly beige.
But no raisin I could see or even smell the rum.
After a couple of gite, I found some raisins.
The raisin had really strong rum flavor and also sweet taste.
Vanilla ice cream was silky and not so sweet but I thought the concentration of the milk was pretty high.
As the package says, the raisins were pretty big pieces and chewy.
It was only 0.8% or less alcohol contained, to me it was pretty strong. (I think because it's rum...)
