Smooth Pudding Chocolate

Nameraka Purin Choco, this is how to read the package and it means "smooth pudding chocolate" simply.

This chocolate is from Kabaya and new product.

On the shelves, this caught my eyes as it looked really interesting and cute!

This pudding flavor chocolate consists of 3 layers to make and taste it like pudding we're familiar with.

The package explains how it can create pudding taste chocolate.

*Top: caramel flavored chocolate
*Bottom: custard flavored chocolate
*Filling: whipped milk cream with vanilla beans

Each Nameraka Purin Choco is packed individually.

Thought it's a little bit annoying but to keep the shape might need to be separated each other in case of heat.

It's about an inch/2.5 cm tall.
Really really tiny pudding!
So cute :)

You can see the 3 layers and vanilla beans.

The caramel part had slightly bitter flavor and reminded me of the actual caramel sauce.

Custard part tasted like white chocolate rather than the flavor they meant to create.

Whipped milk cream was really soft and as soon as you bite into the chocolate, the pudding chocolate was fragile enough to be mixed with the soft cream inside immediately.

Even thou I couldn't really sense the custard taste, somehow it tasted like pudding when I ate it all together.

When you're eager to decorate monotonous pudding, this can be an adorable decoration.
You can make "petit pudding on pudding" with this.

Ebisu Pumpkin Mont Blanc Pudding

I found this pumpkin pudding at Family Mart, a convenience store chain.

They have their original sweets named "Sweets +" to let the customers enjoy some delicate and high quality sweets.

Ebisu Pumpkin is a type of Western pumpkins and contains high sugar content.

Personally, I thought the color of the pumpkin is more yellow than orange which I'm used to see.

When you open the cover, sweet scent of pumpkin and caramel came out.

The top part (looks like spaghetti) tasted exactly pumpkin.

It didn't taste too much of sugar, so it might be mainly from the Ebisu Pumpkin itself.

The label says "PUMPKIN" with the obvious shape of the vegetable.

A lot of whipped cream was underneath the pumpkin cream.

It added some soft texture to the pumpkin string layers.

Even thou there's a pile of whipped cream, it's not something you'd imagine.

It's not sugary cream so it doesn't disturb the natural sweet flavor of the pumpkin on the top.

The bottom, pudding was unexpectedly soft so it's better to scoop little by little without spilling.

I thought it'd be hard jelly like Jello and konnyaku (=konjac) jelly.

The caramel source was slightly bitter and smelled like ram or some sort of alcohol.

It's about 2 inch (5 centimeter) tall but the sweetness and bitterness was well balanced.

If have a sweet tooth, you'll definitely enjoy and finish all this sweet at once.
If you don't, maybe you want to eat this over 2 days?

Milky Crunch Cookie

Fujiya Milky is famous for the sweet milk candy, which they use highly-selected fresh cow milk from Hokkaido (north part of Japan).

Now they have made "Milky Crunch Cookie" using the well-known "Milky" in the dough and also milky taste puffs inside.

Each cookie is wrapped in a pink Peko-chan's face printed package.

So you can enjoy the cookie always fresh and crunchy.

Personally, when sweets are wrapped individually, it help me stop eating too much as to to tear the package every single time is too much work.

The circle shaped cookie is baked well and has light brown color with some pale white-yellow part.

It's a little bit different as it's not roasted flavor as regular cookies but instead it has sweet flavor.

I couldn't really see the crunchy puffs and milky cream when I took a look after a bite.

However, you can definitely sense the crispiness and milky taste chunks while you're eating.

If you've tried Fujiya Milky candy before and liked it, this will give you different texture and savory like you didn't expect.

Even those who thought the candy was too chewy and way too sweet, this cookie might change your opinion about the original candy.

Jagariko Cheese Curry

Jagariko is a potato snack from Calbee.

It's not thin and has a strong/hard crunchiness.
The shape of this snack is like a thick pasta.

Jagariko is named after a short story of an employee.
According to Wikipedia, one of the employee said, "Rikako (a friend of his) liked this snack and ate it with gusto!" when he gave her the sample.

Jagaimo + Rikako =Jagaimo Rikako -> JagaRikako -> Jagariko

Jagaimo means potato in Japanese.

That's how they named this snack Jagariko.

Now they have limited time only flavor, cheese curry.

Somehow, even thou it's available only a short time, the package says, "Jagariko's fan's #1 favorite!"

It doesn't really make sense to me but I bet it's just the way when new product comes out.

The color or the snack reminded me of curry as it's a little bit darker than other flavors.

The taste was a hint of curry but to be honest, too salty. Couldn't eat without any drink...

Also, no flavor of cheese :(

Many of my friends said, "Ewww!!!" but I used to pour hot water into Jagariko and left it for 2 minutes.

Then, it became like mashed potato. No doubt as it's made of potato.

So, next time I try this, I'd pour water and make it into mashed potato as it can probably help the taste less salty.

Peko-chan's Melon Pan

Peko-chan is a character of Fujiya, which sells sweets and also runs family restaurants.

They collaborated with Yamazaki and created Fujiya's famous "Milky" taste melon pan.
("Pan" is bread in Japanese.)

The package caught my attention as it has a huge Peko-chan's face with same old thing; sticking out the tongue with smile, and also she's waving.

Also it has the same pattern of the flower motif in blue and pink.

Under the big font of "Peko-chan's Melon Pan," there's a definition what it is actually.

"Milky whipped cream sand" ---sand is a shorten word for "sandwich" or something stuffed into the bread.

"Fujiya's milky condensed milk is put into the dough, the biscuit cover contains white chocolate ship, then we used milky whipped cream inside."

Ah, definitely I had to get this.
Melon pan + milky = must be amazingly sweet and tasty!

As you can see, the biscuit top has chocolate chips in it and the chocolate gives nice crunch texture while eating.

The biscuit part wasn't that sweet so the chocolate also added sweetness to the cover.

Between the sliced bread, there's the famous milky taste cream in the center.

It smelled like the popular milky!!

As it's mainly put in the middle, I spread evenly towards the edge to enjoy the whipped cream from wherever I have a bite.

The bread itself didn't have enough milky flavor, in my opinion, and it's pretty much regular melon pan's bread.

Wish it's much sweeter like the actual candy, yet if it's too sugary, some would get sick of eating and wouldn't be able to finish eating the whole melon pan.

The special part is the cream and I guess its package, too.

I found this at 100 yen convenience store, so if you're interested in, it's cheap enough to hold back buying.
