Ebi Puri Fry From KFC

KFC in Japan launched "Ebi Puri Fry" on January 8, 2015 in a limited quantity.
Ebi means shrimp, Puri is an abbreviation of Puri-Puri, that means chewy or springy, so it's "chewy shrimp fry."
According to the press release, this shrimp fry is made of 100% natural shrimps.
Also they produced a special tartar sauce only designed for this Ebi Puri Fry, and it's refreshing with malt finger and 3 herbs.
I got a set of one Ebi Puri Fry and a small fries.
Ebi Puri Fry was in a white paper bag.
It's about 12cm (4.7 inch) long.
It's quite greasy outside and the batter looked like the same kind used for Krispy Chicken.
Under crispy and crunchy batter, there's minced shrimp.
The poster shows whole shrimps but actual Ebi Puri Fry uses minced shrimps.
Like a friend of mine told me, this fried shrimp didn't have much chewy or springy texture.
It actually was just a "Minced Shrimp Fry."
Tartar sauce was in a plastic pouch, but as a mayo-hater, I didn't open it.

2015年1月8日、日本のケンタッキーから「えびぷりフライ」が数量限定で発売された。
プレスによると、これは100％天然エビで作られているらしい。
また、このべいぷりフライ専用のタルタルソースが開発され、モルトビネガーの酸味と
3種のハーブで爽やかな味になっている。
私はえびぷりフライが1個と、Sサイズのポテトのセットを注文した。
えびぷりフライは白い紙袋に入っていて、長さは12センチほどあった。
衣は脂っこく、クリスピーチキンに使われているものと同じように見えた。
サクサクしカリッとした衣の中には、ミンチ状のエビが入っていた。
ポスターには原型をとどめているエビが載っていたものの、実物はミンチ状。
えびぷりフライを食べた友達に聞いてはいたけれど、エビ特有のぷりぷり感は少なく、
棒状に成形された「エビのミンチフライ」だった。
「えび専用タルタルソース」は小袋で出されたけれど、マヨネーズが嫌いなので、結局
開封しなかった。
