"Meltykiss" is a winter-limited chocolate brand name produced by Meiji Seika, a Japanese food manufacturing company.
The first product was launched in 1992, and the Meltykiss brand has been very popular over 2 decades.

On November 19, 2013, they launched two flavors (strawberry and raisin), and I got strawberry one.

This flavor called "Tsubu-tsubu Ichigo," which literally means pebbly strawberry.

First I thought the "Tsubu-tsubu" was meant for the seeds on strawberries, however, when I read the definition on the back, I realized it's not the seeds.

"Strawberry-flavored whipped chocolate with ground sweet-and-sour strawberry. Whipped chocolate melts away like light snowflakes and this can provide you sweet time."
So I guessed that it would contain crushed dried strawberries.

According to the press release, white chocolate powder is sprinkled over the surface to create a texture and taste of light snowflake, and between the whipped chocolate, there's a layer of condensed strawberry flavored chocolate.

In the box, as always, there're a lot of individually packaged chocolate.

I held the chocolate to take a photo, but with the body heat, it started melting quickly.

White chocolate powder had a texture like dry and powdery snow.

The ground strawberries were so fine that I wasn't sure if I'd be able to sense on my tongue, but while the whipped chocolate was melting, the little pieces gradually appeared.

The condensed flavored strawberry chocolate in the middle was definitely rich and spiced up the soft and melting chocolate.

Meltykiss is so good, but only available in winter. 
It's sad that I can't get it year-around, but it's something to look forward to during the cold season.

2013年11月19日につぶつぶ苺、クリーミーレーズンの2種類が発売され、

今回「つぶつぶ苺」を食べてみた。

「つぶつぶ苺」と見て苺の種が頭に浮かんだけれど、箱の商品説明に

「ふんわりホイップしたいちごチョコに甘酸っぱい粒々いちごのアクセント。

ホイップならではの淡雪のような口どけでやさしい時間をお届けします。」

とあったので、つぶつぶ苺＝クラッシュされた乾燥苺、と予想。

また、プレスによる表面にホワイトチョコパウダーをまぶしてあるので、

淡雪のような質感と食感を楽しめ、ホイップチョコの間には、

濃厚な苺味のチョコが挟まれている。

いつもと同じく、箱の中には個包装のアルミが沢山。

写真を撮るために指でつまんでいたが、体温でどんどん溶けてしまった。

ホワイトチョコパウダーは、サラッとしていて雪のよう。

つぶつぶは小さく、舌で感じられるか内心疑っていたけれど、

ホイップチョコが溶けていくと同時に細かい苺の粒が出て来た。

味がはっきりしていている濃厚な苺チョコは、全体を引き締めているような濃さ。

メルティーキッスはとても美味しいけれど、冬限定のが寂しくもあり楽しみでもある。
