2 day ago, I read that pickle flavored soft serve ice cream exists in Upper West.
It's sold at Lucky Pickle Dumpling Co., which was opened by the same owner of famous-yet-burnt-down Jacob's Pickles at the end of April, 2018.
We've been to Jacob's Pickles but I didn't know that they opened a new place, even with dumplings and noodles, not pickles.
I got there around 2PM on Wednesday and there're about 10 people.
It's a tiny place with some eat-in space but mainly for to-go, and there's no cash register but 2 touch screens on the left wall to place an order and pay.
Menu
It's ready in about 3 minutes.
It's a pretty big cup for 5 dollars, but the key is the flavor...
It's topped with sliced dried pickles.
It had sour scent and I could tell it's definitely pickle flavor.
It's a pale green colored, incredibly smooth soft serve but just pickle favored, not Matcha as it looked.
Same as the scent, it had sourness and some tangy heat from dill, and I didn't taste any sweetness of soft serve.
My son is about 10 months and he wants everything I eat so I gave him some, and while he's not had pickles yet, he actually liked this though he had a grim stare before trying.
It tasted very similar to what Jacob's Pickles used to serve, and this treat should be accepted by those who liked their pickles.
It's not for everyone, I'd say, but quite unique.
The portion was so large and it's salty, too, and I think it's best to be shared.

2018年4月下旬に開店したラッキーピクルス ダンプリング コーというお店で販売されて
いて、火事で全焼してしまった人気店のジェイコブス ピクルスのオーナーのお店らしい。
水曜日の午後2時頃に到着すると、10人ほどがいた。
飲食スペースがいくつかある小さな店舗で、メインはテイクアウトだと思う。
レジがなく、左側の壁にタッチスクリーンが2個あり、これで商品を選んで支払う。
メニュー
注文後、3分程度で手渡された。
5ドルでこの量はお得だけれど、味が気になるところ。
スライスしたドライ ピクルスが飾られていた。
香りはピクルスのほんのりした酸味があり、食べる前からピクルスだと分かった。
若草色のとても滑らかなソフトクリームで、抹茶味に見えるけれどピクルス味。
香り同様に、ピクルスの酸味とディルのピリッとした味があり、ソフトクリームの甘さは
全く感じられなかった。
約10ヶ月の息子は私が食べる物を全て欲しがるので、まだ本物のピクルスを食べたことが
ないけれど少し与えてみると、美味しそうに食べていた。
ただ、食べる前はとても険しい顔をしていた。
ジェイコブス ピクルスの味にそっくりだったので、あのお店のピクルスが好きな人は
美味しく食べられると思う。
万人受けする味ではないけれど、面白いアイスだった。
ただ、1人で食べるには量が多く塩気も強いので、何人かで分けるのが丁度良さそう。
