Owl Cafe Mohumohu

(Japanese follows. /

Before going back to Japan, I booked an owl cafe "Fukurou Magic (Owl Magic)" in Omotesando, however, they didn't get back to me until multiple calls and e-mails, and they even suggested wrong date and time that I asked for, so I didn't feel like changing my schedule which was already tight and pay and penny at that spot.
While searching owl cafe in the walking-distance from the hotel I was staying, I found Owl Cafe Mohumohu near Shinjuku station and I could book a spot for the same day through the internet.
(I reserved a slot right after the opening on a weekday.)
* Fukurou means owl in Japanese, and Mofumofu is a mimetic word meaning fluffy objects like furs and feathers.

The cafe was a bit hard to find though it's about 100m (328 feet) from Shinjuku South-East exit.
It's on the 5th floor so that unless you really pay attention to the modest sign at the entrance of the building or look up the top floor's windows, you'll hard time finding the cafe.
The entrance of the building looks like this (as of March, 2017).

The windows on the 5th floor says, "フクロウカフェ もふもふ (Fukurou Cafe Mohumohu)."

It's a walk-up building, FYI.
On weekdays, they're open from noon to 9 PM and on Sat, Sun and holidays, they're open from 11 AM to 8 PM, and you can stay up to 1 hour.
It's 1,500 yen on weekdays and 1,800 on Sat, Sun and holidays per hour and comes with 1 drink.

Polaroid photograph is 300 yen.
You can feed the owls 2 times a day, 200 yen per person; noon and 8 PM on weekdays and 11 AM and 7 PM on Sat, Sun and holidays.

It's a cozy space but seemed to be spacious enough for the owls.
Before entering the "owl space," you pay the fee and you're asked to take off your jacket, put your bag(s) away and also get alcohol spray on your hands to sanitize.
That day, the options for the drinks were green tea or Japanese plum juice.
On the top of the cap, there's a sticker and later, you put the sticker under the photo of your favorite owl as a vote after you interacted with them.

Fur covered feet.

This guy (not sure the sex) looked fierce yet very gentle.

They're mini owls.

You can gently stroke the feathers from top to down, but no poking.

Video

The staff put owls on my shoulder and head, and he took photos for the visitors.

When this owl spread the wings, he looked very large and the wind was strong when he flutter the wings.

They looked funny.

And this pointy-eyebrows made me think of Couche-Tard in Montreal.

The staff put this mini owl on my finger.

Owl on my shoulder.

Owl on my head.

Owl on my shoulder.
Although I visited this cafe alone, the staff was talkative and the numbers of the visitors are limited per hour so that I could play with and take photos of the owls.
There're sings to warn the feces of the owls, but when I was there, no owls pooped on me or on other guests, but surprisingly, they did business on the standing poles after they left the guests' heads and shoulders.
I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but I was amazed.
If you're planning to visit any bird cafes, I highly recommend you wear something smooth, no lace or sweaters as their nails may get caught and also those bumpy and delicate textiles can be hard to wash throughly.

Another owl cafe.
Cafe With Birds
