Texas Burger From McDonald's

This year, 2016, is the 45th anniversary of McDonald's Japan since the first restaurant had opened in Ginza in 1971.
McDonald's Japan brought back one of the old burgers "Texas Burger" on October 5, 2016.
Texas Burger was launched in 2010 and sold for a limited time, and the patty is about 2.5 times larger than that used in a regular burger, there're crispy fried onions, cheese, bacon and 2 kinds of sauce with 3 slices of special bun.

The upper bun was shiny and seemed soft.
The upper bun didn't have sauce, and there're 2 bacon strips.
Under the bacons, there're fried onions and BBQ sauce.
Under the middle bun, there's a beef 100% quarter pound patty that was larger than the bun.
Under the patty, there're a slice of cheese and mustard relish.
It's a heavy burger yet it's easy to hold as the heigh wasn't that tall.
It's described as "chewy bun" but I thought it's only soft and subtly moist and not really chewy.
At least the texture was better than those used for the regular burgers.
I like crispy and crunchy bacon but these were soft, and they added nice saltiness without pork odor.
The patty was just large and it's quite dry.
The BBQ sauce was smoky and had a nice kick of black pepper, and the fried onions were still crispy.
The cheese tasted the same as regular cheese used in McDonald's burgers.
Mustard relish was sour and I didn't really like it, besides I think the burger tasted much better without the relish.
Also, too much bread in this burger; we ended up removing the middle bun.

The patty is 1/4 pound, the bun is hand-rolled so that it's chewy, and the 2 sauces are the BBQ sauce is inspired by the spicy cajun sauce and tangy mustard seeds relish.
I wasn't sure if I'd like mustard seeds relish but I got the burger as it was.
The box had a huge star on the top and the front says, "Congratulations on the 45th anniversary. Restored by everyone's love."

今年2016年は、1971年に銀座に最初のマクドナルドが開店してから45周年となる。2016年10月5日に、日本マクドナルドから以前販売されていた「テキサスバーガー」が
期間限定で再販売されている。
テキサスバーガーは2010年に期間限定発売されたもので、パティは通常の2.5倍あり、
サクサクのフライドオニオン、チーズ、ベーコン、2種類のソースを3段の特性バンズに
挟んだもの。
パティは1/4ポンド、手で丸めたもちもち食感のバンズ、2種類のソースはケイジャン
ソースを参考にしたスパイシーなバーベキューソースとピリッとした粒マスタード
レリッシュ。
マスタードレリッシュが美味しいか分からなかったけれど、そのまま注文した。
大きな星が載った箱の前面は、「祝45周年 みんなの愛で大復活」と書いてあった。

バンズは艶があり、ふっくらとしていた。
1番上のバンズにはソースが塗られておらず、ベーコンが2枚乗っていた。
ベーコンの下にフライドオニオン、バーベキューソースがあった。
真ん中のバンズの下には牛肉100％の1/4パウンドのパティがあり、バンズよりも大き
かった。
パティの下にはチーズ、その中心にマスタードレリッシュがあった。
ずっしりとしていたものの、高さはそれほどなかったので持ちやすかった。
「もちもち食感のバンズ」と記載されていたけれど、ふわふわした食感が強くほんの少し
しっとりし、もちもちした食感があったとは言い難い。
通常のバーガーに使われているバンズよりかは食感が良かった。
私はカリカリのベーコンが好きだけれど、このバーガーに挟まれていたものは柔らかく
適度に塩気を足し、豚肉の臭みはなかった。
パティは大きいだけでパサつきが気になった。
スモーキーで胡椒の効いたBBQソースはとても美味しく、フライドオニオンはサクサクに
揚がっていた。
チーズはいつもの黄色いチーズと味は変わらず、マスタードレリッシュは酸味が強く私は
あまり好きではなかったし、正直ない方が美味しかったと思う。
また、パンの量が多かったので中心のバンズを抜いて食べた。
