Taiyaki Ice Cream From Ice & Pan
アイス＆パンのたい焼きアイスクリーム

Ice & Pan in Queens sell Taiyaki Ice Cream, which is a soft serve over the mouth of Taiyaki, a fish shaped pancake.
Taiyaki is a traditional Japanese sweets and it usually has sweet red bean paste inside, but this shops provides various fillings.
Menu
I could choose the filling, ice cream and topping, and I got custard filling, sesame ice cream and kiwi topping, but while waiting, they told me that the sesame was sold out so I switched to matcha.
A staff started my Taiyaki to order, and after he poured the batter to the fish shaped tin, he put custard filling.
He set the stopwatch and when the buzzer went off, he took the Taiyaki out, scraped off the excess and cooled it off on a rack.
He added matcha flavored soft serve, added a skewer with kiwi and a pocky, then sprinkled colorful pieces.
The sticker and the Taiyaki were in line, and I thought it's quite professional how they served.
Unlike the sample in the display, the mouth wasn't wide open so that the soft serve was "on" the mouth, not "in" the mouth.
The Taiyaki was still warm so that the cup became cloudy.
The colorful pieces smelled and tasted like crushed Fruity Pebbles.
The Pocky was cookie & cream flavor.
I could see some black sesame running down over Taiyaki, and I think they once served black sesame soft serve but ran out of it.
I wanted to take a photo of the whole sweets, I took it out.
The soft served was already melting so that I had to be careful.
Matcha soft serve was smooth and mainly sweet with subtle matcha flavor.
The Taiyaki was a bit soft without any crispy part and the batter was slightly uncooked, and I think t hey added the custard filling too early without letting the batter cook well.
While eating the Taiyaki started leaking and I was so glad it's in a cup.

クイーンズにあるアイス＆パンでは、たい焼きの口の部分にソフトクリームを乗せた
たい焼きアイスクリームが販売されている。
たい焼きは日本の伝統的なお菓子で、あんこが詰めてあるものが一般的だけれど、この
お店では様々なフィリングがある。
メニュー
フィリング、アイスクリーム、トッピングが選べたので、カスタード フィリング、黒ごま
アイス、キウイをトッピングに選んだ。
ただ、待っている間に「黒ごまは売り切れ」と伝えられたので代わりに抹茶を選んだ。
たい焼きは注文を受けてから焼き始めていて、型に生地を流し入れた後にカスタード
フィリングを入れていた。
ストップウォッチで時間を計り、ブザーが鳴ると型から外して余分な生地を落とし、網の
上で冷ましていた。
抹茶ソフトクリームを乗せ、串に刺したキウイ、ポッキー、カラフルな粒を足して完成。
ステッカーとたい焼きの面が綺麗に並び、カップに入れる向きにも気を使っているよう
だった。
ディスプレーにあったサンプルとは異なり口の部分が小かったので、ソフトクリームは
口の中ではなく、口の上に乗っていた。
たい焼きはまだ温かかったので、カップが曇った。
色あざやかな粒は、香りも味もフルーティーペブルズ（フルーツ味のシリアル）を砕いた
ようだった。
ポッキーはクッキー＆クリーム味。
たい焼きの上に黒ごまアイスが溶けて流れていたので、黒ごまアイスを一旦入れたものの
途中で無くなったのだと思う。
全体を写真に収めるため、カップから取り出した。
ソフトクリームが溶け出して不安定だったので、注意が必要だった。
抹茶ソフトクリームは滑らかで全体的に甘く、ほんのりとだけ抹茶の香りがした。
たい焼きは柔らかめで、パリッとした部分はなかった。
カスタードを入れたのが少し早すぎて、生地に火が通っていなかったのだと思う。
