This cake syrup from Morinaga is one of the long-selling items that I grew up seeing and using.
It's not maple syrup, but maple flavored sugar syrup for pancakes.

In 2008, they renewed the package and it's got 2 different nozzles to squeeze out depending on how much you want to put.

This is the smaller nozzle, which is set at upper side.

The diameter is little like a tooth pick.
As a comparison, it's my pinky.

It's really easy to pour a little bit.

The lower side had a larger nozzle which bends the other side from the tiny nozzle.

It's about a size of my pinky nail.

This one was useful to pour a lot at once if you're not planning to decorate the plate delicately.

It had some maple scent but the flavor itself was much weaker and lighter than real maple syrup.
The texture is light and not that sticky.

When I was little, there's only one nozzle and never thought there'd be 2 different sizes ever.

As a reminder, it's not maple syrup but maple flavored syrup.
On the ingredients list, "maple" isn't even mentioned.

森永のケーキシロップは、小さな頃からよく見て使ってきた商品の一つ。
これはメープルシロップではなく、メープル風味のパンケーキ用シロップ。
2008年、出す量に合わせて選べる2種類のノズルが付いたものにリニューアルされた。

細いノズルは上側に付いていて、爪楊枝ほどの太さ。
ごく少量を出すのもかなり簡単だった。

下側は太めのノズルで、極細ノズルとは反対側に曲げて開ける。
穴の大きさは小指の爪と同じくらいだった。
デコレーションをせず一気に沢山注ぎたい場合に使いやすい。

メープルのような香りはあるものの、やはり本物のメープルシロップより風味は劣る。
ただ、サラッとしていて使いやすい。

小さい頃は、2種類のノズルが付くとは考えもしなかったので、世の中便利と言うか
クリエイティブになったなと思った。

文字さえ載っていなかった。
