100円ショップで見つけたラ・メール・プラールのクッキー

La Mere Poulard is a famous omelette restaurant in Mont Saint-Michel in France, and there're several branches in Japan you can also have the omelette.

When I was wandering around in my hometown, I dropped by at a 100 yen shop (a dollar shop) to see if there's any interesting goods or snacks.
And I found this La Mere Poulard Cookie in one of the racks near the cashing register apart from the snack section, so I assume they only have a certain stock to sell out and not resell.

I didn't know that they produce confectioneries other than dishes at the restaurants, but the picture of Mont Saint-Michel and the woman cooking an omelette on a red box were familiar as the woman and red were seen at La Mere Poulard in Yurakucho.

On the side, it says "Product of France" and "Traditional Products," so it should be authentic so I bought one.

In the box, there're 4 cookies in a plastic pouch which has "La Mere Poulard" in red on it.

It's about 5cm (2 inch) in diameter and not a big cookie but full of chocolate chips.

The thickness was about 1.5 - 2cm (0.6 - 0.8 inch).

The cookie had rich butter flavor and was crispy and crunchy.
Anywhere I bit, there're a lot of chocolate chips.
It's a perfect size for when you feel a bit hungry, but if there's a larger box, I'd buy the big one to enjoy more cookies at one.

実家の近所を歩いていた時に100円ショップに立ち寄り、何か面白い商品がないか探していると、
レジ近くの棚にラ・メール・プラールのクッキーがあるのを見つけた。
お菓子の棚からは離れていたので、一定量しか納入しない売り切り商品なのかもしれない。

レストラン以外に菓子類を製造していると知らなかったけれど、赤い箱にモン・サン＝ミッシェルの
写真とオムレツを作っている女性が載ったので、ラ・メール・プラール 有楽町で見た赤色と
同じ女性の絵だったので、なんとなく見たことがあるという印象だった。

箱には「フランス製」「昔ながらの（伝統的な）商品」と書かれていたので、買ってみることにした。

箱の中にはラ・メール・プラールと書かれた袋に4個のクッキーが入っていた。
クッキーの直径は5センチ程度で大きくはないけれど、チョコレートチップが沢山入っていた。
厚みは1.5～2センチほど。

バターの香りが良くサクサク、ザクザクした食感で、どこ噛んでもチョコレートが入っていた。
少しお腹が空いた時に食べるのに丁度良い量だったけれど、もっと沢山入っている大箱があれば
それを買いたい。
