Chocolate Cookie Called "Choco Diablo" From Leclerc

The other day, my husband bought this cookie ostensibly for me, but he just wanted to eat it.

French name is "Choco Diablo" and English name has literal translation, "Choco Devil."

This is produced by Biscuits Leclerc Ltd. is a company in Quebec specializing in the manufacture of biscuits, based in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, near Quebec City. 

This company was founded in 1905 by Francois Leclerc, and the products are sold in more than 20 countries in the world.
On the HP, it says, “Devil cookies have truly earned their name. Irresistible chocolate chunks nestled inside irresistible chocolate cookies… They truly are devilish! Oh, and how we love to give into temptation!”

According to the package, it uses dark chocolate chunk with 70% of cocoa and dark chocolate chip.

Inside of the box, there'a plastic case covered by transparent film.

The cookies looked pretty dark.

This is the cookie.

It's not that big, maybe the diameter is 5cm (2.5 inch.)?

And it's thin.

The cookie was very crispy and the chocolate chunks and chips were anywhere I bit.

It had bitter taste and some sort of roasted flavor like coffee, but the chocolate chips were adding sweetness to it.

I'm not a big fan of dark chocolate, but this cookie provided bitterness and also sweetness alternatively so that I could actually enjoy this a lot.

The ingredient list was very unique and thoughtful.

Those allergic substances were in bold so that it's easy for those who are careful about some ingredients.

私がモントリオールに来るので、旦那がクッキーを買っておいてくれた。
「私のために」と言うのはあくまでも表向きの理由で、
本当は旦那が食べたかったから買ったらしい。
フランス語の商品名は「チョコ ディアブロ」で、
英語の商品名は文字通り訳した「チョコ デビル」。
つまり、悪魔。

このクッキーはレクラーク（Leclerc）が製造元。
レクラーク社は1905年にフランシス・レクラーク（Francois Leclerc）が
ケベックシティに近いSaint-Augustin-de-Desmaures に創業した
ビスケット製造専門企業。
現在は世界20ヶ国以上で販売されている。

ホームページには、「デビルクッキーはその名に相応しいクッキー。
チョコレートクッキーに埋もれるチョコレートチャンク。。。
抵抗できない美味しさは、まさに悪魔！
悪魔にささやかれたい！」
（上手く日本語に訳せない）

外箱によると、カカオ70%のダークチョコレートチャンクと
ダークチョコレートチップが使われているらしい。

箱の中にはプラスチック容器があり、透明なフィルムで覆われていた。
クッキーの見た目はかなり黒い。

クッキーの直径は5センチ程度でそれほど大きくなく、薄め。
食感は軽くサクサクしていて、どこを食べてもチョコレートチャンクと
チョコレートチップが出てくる。
苦味と炒ったコーヒーのような香りがしたけれど、
チョコレートチップによって甘みが足されていた。

普段ダークチョコレートはあまり食べないけれど、
このクッキーは甘さと苦さが交互に楽しめてとても美味しかった。

興味深い点は、原材料に含まれるアレルギー物質が
太字になっているところ。
アレルギーがある場合、食べられるか確認する時にとても見やすい。
