Poutine Au Chille Merguez From Pub BreWskey
Poutine Au Chille Merguez

(Japanese follows. /

The most anticipated event, La Poutine Week, has started from today, February 1, 2018.
It's an annual event held from the 1st through the 7th, and it's been my tradition to go to Pub BreWskey for my first poutine during that high-calorie event.
This year, I didn't see their name listed in the event page so that I messaged them if they're serving anything special, and they said they're not attending La Poutine Week this year but would have some special menus.

After landing at the airport, I went to Pub BreWskey and arrived around 11:30AM, and I was a bit afraid someone would be there already and ordering the poutine, but luckily they said I was the first one and I could become the first customer to try the poutine. (My ego but my goal, also.)
This year's poutine is "Poutine au Chille Merguez," and the chef said the details as the following; curly fries, 100% lamb meat merguez (spicy sausage), chile with corns and black bends, topped with leeks and fried potato skins.
While catching up and learning how they opened the bar, the poutine was ready.

Poutine au Chille Merguez

Same as usual, the portion was large, and there's a lot of chile and merguez.

I'm not a huge fan of lamb or merguez, but thanks to the sourness of tomatoes and spices used in chile sauce, the characteristic lamb odor was well covered and I didn't notice much of the lamb scent.
The merguez was juicy and meaty.

There're chunky cheese curds, corns, black bends and leeks.
Some cheese curds were melted by the heat of the chile, but those not melted still had some squeakiness.
Corns were adding sweetness to the lightly spicy chile, and fried potato skins were light and crispy, and they reminded me of kettle cooked chips.

Curly fries.
I enjoyed the poutine and conversation with them, and I'm looking forward to coming back again.
Originally I was planning to bring my son but it's so cold that I gave up, and they said due to the law of Quebec or license they have for the bar doesn't allow kids to sit in the bar, and when I heard that, I was in a way relieved that I didn't take my baby with me. (However, when they have terrace seatings in the summer, kids may sit at the table outside.)

It's my 179th poutine.

今年のプーティンは「Poutine au Chile Merguez」で、シェフが詳細を教えてくれた;

Poutine au Chile Merguez

Poutine Au Chille Merguez: 17
